Chevrolet 3100 283 V8 1951

General description : AMERICANA, 283 V8, TH350 AUTO, A/C, PWR STEER & BRAKE, LEATHER INT, GR8 CRUISR!

With the growing popularity of the classic pick-up truck segment, trucks like this 1951 Chevrolet 3100 are quickly finding their way to new owners. It's a vehicle that you can still enjoy that vintage swagger with, but also find some practicality and comfort as well.
Covering the curvaceous sheet metal is a brilliant burgundy paint job that lays down nicely on the panels and has a nice gloss under our showroom lights. It carries just enough flake to look like a modern paint job, but nothing that is too flashy or overdone. The chrome grill is clean, as well as the front and rear bumpers. Out back, the clean bed cover unbuttons to reveal a practical wood panel bed. It's a great look and you don't have to worry about scratching a glossy show finish back there, it's prepared to handle most hauling duties you're ready to throw at it. With chrome 15'' Torque Thrust wheels, it's a stylish package that will turn heads, but won't be one that the times outgrow because of some bright paint or wild flames. Stubtle touches, such as the LED headlights and under lights help this truck stand out when the sun's reflection isn't making the burgundy paint sparkle.
Open the doors to a very clean and comfortable interior that features a bench seat out of a late model pick-up. It's covered in tan leather and features a middle section that folds down to provide a comfortable armrest, cup holders, and storage space. Behind that bench is a speaker panel with component speakers and subwoofers. The traditional dash is painted in the same burgundy finish as the exterior, it's accented with great looking chrome trim and hosts Stewart Warner gauges that measure speed, oil pressure, fuel level, water temps, and battery amperage. It's all wrapped in plush tan carpet and soft door panels covered in tan cloth, while an upgraded tilting steering column connects with the driver while they enjoy ice cold A/C and an AM/FM/CD player.
Lift the hood to an engine bay with a painted firewall and fenders that surround a well dressed 283 cubic inch V8. A chrome air cleaner, chrome alternator, and chrome valve covers handle aesthetics, while an Edelbrock carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, aftermarket headers, a Mallory ignition, and Mallory distributor takes care of air, fuel, and spark. Mated to an automatic TH350 3-speed transmission, that small block sends power to a 12 bolt rear end and sends exhaust fumes out a dual exhaust. The body weight is sprung through leaf springs at the front and rear with added power steering, and power front disc brakes maintaining control.
This '51 Chevy 3100 is a great pick-up to enjoy at your local cruise-in, make Saturday home improvement runs in, or just take the kids out for ice cream. It's an honest build that doesn't pretend to be anything it's not, just pure Americana. If you're ready for a well mannered classic pick-up, this is your opportunity. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
