Chevrolet C10 350 V8 1972

General description : BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED LWB C-10, 350 V8, AUTO, PWR FRNT DISCS/STEERING, FACTORY AC

Here at Streetside Classics, we're lucky enough to find the nicest old trucks in the south, and this 1972 Chevrolet C10 is no exception. Coming from a warm, dry climate, you know it's clean, and a strong-running 350, lots of options, and handsome two-tone paint make it just a little nicer than your average pickup.
We're seeing more and more of these trucks getting complete makeovers, and someone obviously spend a good chunk of change getting this one into shape. Fortunately, this truck needed very little surgery to look this good, and while the paint is a few years old, it still has a decent shine that looks just right on the vintage pickup. They did things right and it's obvious that most of the trim was removed for the respray, polished up, and reinstalled to add to its well-dressed look. The long bed and regular cab are arguably the best combination for a truck that might still do some work on weekends, and it gives the truck great proportions and a purposeful look. And speaking of hauling, the bed is well preserved, with very little evidence of having been a work truck in its past, and it's protected by a spray-in bedliner and a heavy-duty rubber mat, so don't be afraid to put it to work now and then.
The interior is basic, as you'd expect, but there are a few upgrades that make it fun to drive. The bench seat carries a dark green vinyl seat cover that might just be original, although it's in pretty darned nice shape if that's the case. The dash and door panels are in excellent condition, offering body-colored details to make it all work together, and the factory instrument panel includes restored speed and fuel level gauges, with secondary dials underneath. The original radio is still in the dash, but for entertainment, this one uses a hidden AM/FM/CD stereo that's a vast improvement over the factory AM unit. Other features include working factory A/C, power brakes and steering, and a heavy-duty rubber mat on the floor so you don't have to worry about getting it dirty.
We believe the engine is the original 350 cubic inch V8, rebuilt 3250 miles ago and ready for another 40 years of reliable service. The OEM-spec engine bay looks tidy and it remains mostly stock, including the original air cleaner atop the Chevy Orange engine. There's also a new power brake booster, a big alternator, and a giant radiator up front to keep things nice and cool. The A/C has been converted to R134a refrigerant for easy service and original exhaust manifolds dump into a custom dual exhaust system that sounds just right. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission shifts crisply and powers the original rear end, which has reasonable gears inside to make this a great all-around vehicle. Factory steel wheels wear original hubcaps for a real 1970s look and it rides on whitewall radials that ride and handle well.
If you're looking for a handsome, clean old truck that runs well and offers plenty of style, you've just found it. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
