Chevrolet Impala 350 V8 1962

General description : SUPERCLEAN '62 IMP, STRONG 350 V8, AUTO, PWR FRNT DISCS/STEERING, MEAN & CLEAN!

In 1962, the guy driving this cool white-over-red Impala hardtop was well and truly The Man. Today, that's still true, and when you hear the subtle rumble of the 350 and watch all the envious eyes on you as you motor away, you'll understand. For the guy who understands performance and style, few cars can compare to the illustrious Impala.
This is the kind of car that you can recognize blocks away, whether it's the trim hardtop profile or the traditional trip taillights that were unique to the Imp. Driving this car is like dating a movie star, and you should be ready for question and answer session every time you stop for gas. The Ermine White paint will stand up to scrutiny, and looks like a million bucks up close. It's a quality restoration that has just the right look of originality, making it a fantastic cruiser that's always properly dressed for an event. Fit and finish are quite good, with doors that fit nicely without needing to give them a hard slam. The sheetmetal is incredibly straight, so the white paint is a big bonus, not a demerit, because it shows none of the usual flaws a lesser car might have. Chrome and trim is quite good, including the delicate Impala badges on the quarters and crossed-flag emblems up front. It's been driven and enjoyed, of course, but between the quality of the work and the timeless design, this is still a car that gets noticed everywhere it goes. And it totally nails the stance!
The interior is pure '60s style, a blend of conservative patterns and shiny trim that looks awesome today. The Impala is particularly interesting due to its unique blend of performance and luxury, making it a rather stylish gentleman's express. The seats wear bright red reproduction covers with proper button-tufted seat backs, there's new carpeting with original-style rubber floor mats, and the door panels show an artist's touch. The instruments in that sweeping engine-turned dash are crisp and well-marked, and a custom center armrest with a pair of cup holders is a nice addition for cruising and road trips. Being a non-SS is rather rare these days, but it still has a sporting air that's probably due to the beautiful steering wheel round gauge pods under the speedometer. It also includes the original AM radio in the dash (an AM/FM/CD unit is hidden out of sight), a pair of heavy-duty floor mats, and the trunk is neatly finished with zero rust, a correct mat set, and a full-sized spare.
The engine of choice here is a 350 cubic inch small block V8 that's no longer pretending to be stock. There's a lot of chrome, from the Edelbrock air cleaner to the polished intake manifold to the alternator and master cylinder, so everything sparkles when you open the hood. Finned valve covers come from a Z/28 and look great here and there's a giant aluminum radiator up front to keep it all cool. The transmission has been upgraded to a TH350 3-speed automatic, a step up from the original PowerGlide 2-speed, and with factory power steering and disc brakes, it's a very easy cruiser. A new exhaust system with dual mufflers sounds flat-out awesome and definitely gives this formal ride an attitude. 15-inch Torque Thrust wheels wear recent 255/70/15 Firestone radials.
A very pretty car with a bulletproof powertrain combination, this Impala will always be on the A-list. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
