Chevrolet Nova 468 CID V8 1970

General description : This 1970 Big Block Chevrolet Nova is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Nova was originally a trim line on the Chevy II. However, in 1969 it became its own line of vehicle and would wind up becoming one of the best hotrod platforms to ever grace the bowtie. Its lightweight and huge engine bay was the perfect combination. This 1970 is a notable example of what many have done with these classic Chevy’s. The clean and straight body looks great especially with the huge cowl fiberglass hood on it. The chrome brightwork is just as clean and shows extremely well. The chrome wheels are a welcomed addition giving the car a little more modern feel. Of course, all of that is nice but now to the part that really matters, the heart of the beast if you will. The small block that the car originally came with is long gone and in its place, is one of the most well-known engines ever made, a 454 Big Block. Rebuilt starting with the block being bored .060 over giving the engine a total displacement of 468 cubic inches. The Edelbrock heads are perfectly matched to the engine and provide the perfect flow. The roller rocker set up gives better durability and allows the engine to reach higher RPM’s safely. That amazing exhaust note can be attributed to a set of 3-inch Hooker Super Comp Headers that were ran to a set Super 44 Flowmasters giving this car a rumble like no other. The TCI Th350 has been built to handle that massive amount of power with firm and positive upshifts being exactly what you want in a car like this. The interior is basic but comfortable with the bucket seats having enough side bolster to keep you planted. If you have been looking for a great car that has been well built with a drivetrain that is out of this world. Options on this 1970 Big Block Chevrolet Nova include AM/FM/Cassette, Cloth Interior, Seat Belts, and Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. About Chevrolet Nova
The Chevy Nova is a compact car that was produced by Chevrolet from 1962 to 1979, and again from 1985 to 1988. While it was not initially marketed as a muscle car, it was offered with a range of powerful engines that made it a popular choice among enthusiasts.

In particular, the Nova SS (Super Sport) was a high-performance version of the car that was equipped with a range of performance upgrades, including larger engines, heavy-duty suspension, and upgraded brakes. The most notable engine options included the 327 cubic inch V8 and the 396 cubic inch V8, both of which produced impressive horsepower figures.

The Nova SS was a popular choice for drag racing, and it became a symbol of the burgeoning muscle car scene in the 1960s. It was known for its simple and lightweight design, which made it a popular choice among racers looking to modify and tune their cars for maximum performance.

Today, the Chevy Nova is still a popular classic car, with enthusiasts drawn to its simple and stylish design, as well as its impressive performance capabilities. While it may not be as well-known as some of the more iconic muscle cars from the era, the Nova remains a significant part of American automotive history and a beloved classic among collectors and enthusiasts.
