Chevrolet Other 1970

General description : 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS396   When Chevrolet introduced the El Camino they rocked the world with one of the coolest truck/car combos that will go down in history.  These cars gave you that work function you needed from a truck but still had you cruising around in an awesome muscle car that is practically a Chevelle pickup.  This 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS is an all original classic that is un-restored but completely numbers matching. It comes with the factory build sheet and Protector Plate. The car began its life in Georgia and was purchased by the current owner in the 80's.  It has been stored indoors since and well cared for.  The body/metal is all in good condition with no major damage or rust.  It is very solid and is coated in a nice Red with two Black racing stripes.  Chrome bumpers are in place in the front in rear with the tailgate having the correct style trim.  The front grill bears the SS logo and sits between the dual headlights.  A white vinyl top is in place and looks great with the matching bed cover.  Under each corner are the vintage black/chrome combo wheels that look great.  Getting those tires spinning is the numbers matching 396V8 350hp motor that runs well.  The block, heads, and manifold are all painted Chevrolet Orange and look great topped with chrome valve covers.  A chrome circle air cleaner is in place and is topped with 396 Turbo Jet Decals.   An automatic transmission is in place that shifts smoothly with no problems.  Disc brakes are in place up front and all are power assisted.  Other nice features include the working AC and power steering system.    The interior is finished out in Black and uses the original bench seat and trim.  The dash has that classic 70's look and everything is there.  The original gauges are mounted in the original bezel and work well.  The AC utilizes the original vents inset into the dash and blows cold.  The truck bed floors are all solid and painted to match the rest of the car. Whether you are looking for a classic driver, a weekend show car, or a restoration project this car is the one! SOLD

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
