This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL is a premium classic coupe wrapped around a slick red appearance and powered by a muscular V8. And so we know you're hooked even before we mention all the best upgrades like A/C comfort and upgraded handling. So yes, you're really looking at the best of everything.
What makes this coupe look so great is the quality of its condition. The factory-correct Rangoon Red has been given a quality respray so that it has a terrific gloss and shine every time the sunlight hits the bold color. The driver gets the original premium chrome ring wheel. Beyond that is the wide gauge cluster that spans nearly half the dash. It includes a massively long speedometer flanked by two barrel-style gauge clusters. While the dash has all the great original pieces still in place, you'll also spot some nice upgrades like the auxiliary gauges and AM/FM/CD stereo. Plus, the air conditioning is running modern R134a, so you'll love rolling down all the windows and showing off this pillarless hardtop all year long.
Under the hood you'll see the large a Ford FE block. This is a 390 cubic-inch V8, which is correct for a Z-code car like this. The mix of gold and chrome in the engine bay is a striking appearance that will be a hit wherever you pop the hood. Yes, it does have 427 markings, but with the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake, it's already quite a stunning power package that you won't have to make excuses for. In fact, the rumble of the dual exhaust is a hypnotic muscle car symphony. Factory features like the three-speed automatic transmission and power steering keep this powerful coupe under easy control. And upgrades like the slotted and drilled front disc brakes and modern Toyo performance tires give you superior all-around handling.
