Ford Mustang 390 V8 1967

General description : 1967 Ford Mustang - Shelby GT500 Tribute This 1967 Ford Mustang was well on its way to become a beautiful Shelby GT500 Tribute before the owner unfortunately passed away.  What he left behind was a great little project that really does not need much work to be finished out.  Plus, most if not all the parts to do that are included in the purchase!  The paint on the car is fresh and was just completed prior to it being parked.  The Dark Blue metallic paint has a beautiful finish and the dual White racing stripes suit the car well.  It has the right GT500 look with the front fog lights in grill and although the are currently not in place all of the lights come with the car.  The front and rear spoiler look great and along with the side scoops the car just looks incredibly tough.  All of the glass is in place and in great shape.  The rear bumper is nicely chromed and the front bumper is one of the only parts that is missing.  Under all four corners are American Racing Torq Thrust wheels that look great and are wrapped in brand new Cooper Cobra Radial T/A tires. Under the hood is a 390 V8 motor that was just completely rebuilt and installed.  It is backed by a C6 automatic transmission that sends power back to the Ford 9 inch rear end.  The motor was very nicely done with the block, heads, and water pump all painted the original style Ford Blue.  The finned Cobra Le Mans valve covers look great on each side as does the matching Cobra air cleaner.  The cooling system still needs to be finished out and an alternator installed.  A power steering pump comes with the car as does a wiring harness and Lokar transmission linkage.  The interior has been done in White upholstery with Blue carpet.  The aftermarket bucket seats are very comfortable and include headrests.  All of the interior panels are painted White to match and most are still wrapped in the paper from the paint shop waiting to be installed.  The steering column is in place as well as the Grant steering wheel so the car can be moved.  Most of the dash components are missing but the dash pad is there.  Gauges and a gauge pod come with the car.  This car is a great opportunity to take advantage of someone else's investment.  A lot of the work needs to be done and now it just needs to be finished out.  You couldn't get the work done to this point for the asking price and you won't find deals like this coming up very often.  This car has been SOLD!  Please check out our other ads!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
