Ford Ranchero 1972

General description : 1972 Ford Ranchero 500 When people think about the classic Ford Ranchero they typically picture the cousin of the El Camino and not a tough wild custom.  Well this Ranchero is sure to change your tune!  Not only does it have an awesome look but it was just gone through with any needed repairs addressed.  These cars were originally advertised as a "high spirited sports car" and "hard working pickup" but now you can add show car to the list.  Coated in dark black with classic style yellow into orange this car turns heads wherever it goes.  Starting at the nose the flames cover the hood and stretch all the way down to the doors on both sides.  The open front center grill looks great sitting between the dual double headlights all of which are frame in very nice stainless trim.  The chrome is all in good condition with nicely mounted front and rear bumpers.  The rear tailgate is all smoothed out with all of the Ranchero lettering emblems removed.  The glass is in good condition with a slight tint that is being framed in clean stainless trim.  The truck/car combo has a great stance and rolls around on nice American Racing Torque Thrust wheels. Powering this custom down the road is a 1989 302 V8 that runs extremely well.  These small block motors run very well and have no problem providing horsepower.  It has been dressed up with a very nice finned Edelbrock air cleaner and matching Rancher "built by Ford" valve covers.  With the recent upgrades to the car a new C6 automatic transmission was installed to insure smooth shifting.  Other recent fixes include front axle bearings, front seals, pinion seal, air shocks, battery, weather stripping, heater control valve, temperature sending unit, and an overhauled AC which now runs 134 refrigerant.  A lot of these areas are common tweaks on these old cars so having them just completed means the car is ready to be driven and enjoyed without any needed work.  A power steering system is in place and other nice luxuries include the disc brakes found up front.   The interior of the car was just entirely customized so it has a very fresh clean look.  There is nothing like purchasing a classic and opening up the door to see that brand new leather that looks perfect.  It is finished out in Red with custom stitching throughout incorporating flames into the bucket seats and door panels.  The bucket seats are very comfortable and are adjustable with power lumbar support.  The dash utilizes the original style components but has also been covered in Red leather which looks great accenting the Black.  A tilt steering column is in place and is topped with a custom Billet Specialties flame steering wheel that is also wrapped in Red leather. The truck bed on this classic has been treated with a bed liner to give it a nice clean finish while protecting it from any items you may toss in the back.  Everything has been detailed out and the car needs nothing.   This unique classic could be winning you trophies in no time   so get it today for the reduced price of $28,000.00 $19,900.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
