Pontiac Firebird 5.7L V8 Fi 1988

General description : For sale in our Nashville showroom is a 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula. This 1989 Firebird for sale is anything but stock. This highly modified Firebird has a list of go fast goodies that just goes on and on and I will get to that in just a minute, please be patient. Ok, to start let me be clear, this is not a show car! If your thing is to sit in the sun while people walk past your car and tell you how nice your cars is and about the one they had when you were young, this is not your car. What this car is, is FAST. The owner has gone to a lot of expense and trouble to make this car handle well, go fast and just be a pleasure to drive. So, let me explain, no, let me sum up. You will have more fun in the driver’s seat of this car than the folding chair you have in the garage. Now about the car. Looking sinister in all black and murdered out with blacken tail lights and side markers this long lean Firebird is a recipe of all the right stuff. Under the Fiberglass hood is a GM 350HO Deluxe engine with approximately 250 miles on it since it was uncrated and dropped into a cleaned and professionally painted engine compartment. Topping the Chevy small block is a GM high rise intake and the obligatory Holley® 4-barrel carburetor. A HEI distributor provides the energy to the plugs and set of headers handle the spent gasses and route them to the rear of the car. Now for the handling, with new pan hard bar, trailing arms, adjustable torque arm and anti-sway bar the back end of this car is set and ready to shred some corners. Creature comforts include Air conditioning, GPS and a Pioneer AM/FM CD player that pumps the sound through a JL audio amplifier to a set of 2 JL audio 10-inch sub woofers just to name a few. This 1989 Firebird Formula for sale is ready to fly. Options Include: Air conditioning, Power steering, Brakes, Windows and driver’s seat, GPS, Keyless entry and tilt steering wheel. Position in GM Hierarchy:
Distinct Identity: Pontiac occupied a unique place within GM, known for its performance-oriented vehicles and youthful branding.
Mid-Level Brand: Positioned above Chevrolet but below the more upscale divisions such as Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac, Pontiac aimed to offer affordable yet sporty cars.
History and Notable Models:

Iconic Muscle Car: Considered the first true American muscle car, blending performance and style.
Specifications: V8 engines, powerful performance, and aggressive styling made the GTO immensely popular.
Pontiac Firebird (1967-1981):
Muscle Car and Pony Car: Shared the platform with the Chevrolet Camaro, featuring distinct Pontiac styling cues.
Variants: Offered various models and engine options, including the Trans Am, which gained fame through movies like "Smokey and the Bandit."
Pontiac Grand Prix (1962-2008):
Personal Luxury Car: Initially a full-size car, later transformed into a mid-size model, known for its blend of comfort and performance.

Pontiac Bonneville (1957-2005):

Impact and Legacy:
Performance Image: Pontiac carved a niche for itself by emphasizing performance, sportiness, and innovation, attracting younger and enthusiast drivers.
Marketing Success: Innovative marketing strategies and successful racing endeavors contributed to Pontiac's popularity and brand image.
Cessation of Production: Unfortunately, due to financial constraints and changes in consumer preferences, GM discontinued the Pontiac brand in 2010, marking the end of its legacy in the automotive industry.
