Allgemeine Beschreibung : Our Louisville Showroom is proud to present this absolutely stunning/show winning 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible. With every great story, as one chapter ends, another begins and so goes it with this piece of rolling art. Entrusted in the loving care of the same person for the last 14 years, the owner wanted special things and award for this GTO convertible. Going beyond just paint and an engine rebuild, this drop top GTO was meticulously disassembled, cataloged and documented. The restoration was photographed, so besides the pictures on our site, there is a complete photo album of the restoration. The paint is PPG Liquid Crystal, “Ruby Slipper” Tri-coat system. Depending on which angle you look at the GTO, the color will look different. Under the hood, the 400 Cubic Inch V8 engine has been completely gone through. It now sports .030 pistons, Comp Cams camshaft, Comp Cams lifters, Comp Cams Roller Rockers and Custom Push Rods. A polished High Rise intake Manifold with a Holley 750 carburetor sits atop the 400 V8 engine. A custom exhaust system consisting of ceramic coated Hedman Headers with Flowmaster mufflers has been added to efficiently removed spent gases, and give this GTO that glorious Muscle Car sound. Power is fed through the Turbo 400 automatic transmission, then to a GM 10Bolt rear end. A Gear Vendor Overdrive unit has been added to the TH400, and keeps the engine rpm’s down while cruising the interstate. To give the GTO just the right stance, a Hotchkis suspension with a 1.3 inch drop, front and rear sway bars were added. The beautiful old SS Cragars give the old school vibe, but have been upgraded to 17x8’s in the front and 17x9’s in rear, which allows the use of modern day tires. The interior has just been recently updated to “Bone” leather with a matching wrapped steering wheel. The top is a brand new Electron Convertible top with a glass rear window, so you do not have to worry the window yellowing like the plastic ones will. The color is Oyster, compliments both the “Ruby Slipper” paint and the” Bone” interior. The owner has put her heart and soul into this GTO, with complete documentation to prove it, but has decided the time has come for another person the opportunity to own the 2009 1st Place International award winning 1969 Pontiac GTO convertible.
