Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Super 1966

General description : Alfa Romeo 1600 Giulia 1966 Serie 105
Exterior: I love green cars and I think it is a very suitable colour for the little Giulia. And it also makes a very nice contrast to light brown interior. The paint is very nice and there is no rust or bubbles to be seen. All chrome details are in very good condition, the rear bumper has a small dent on the corner left. Rubber around windows and doors are in good condition. Rolling a original steel wheels with Pirelli tyres.
Interior: This Giulia looks amazing inside with the classic Alfa instruments and that wooden dashboard with the Giulia Super emblem. As you can see, it has Recaro seats in the front that are very adjustable so that even very tall people can drive this Alfa. The seats are very comfortable and have been redone to match the rest of the interior. There are also seatbelts in the front. A working classic radio is nice to have on those long road trips. The instruments are beautiful and work as they should.
Engine: The 1600cc engine has received a mild tuning and gives 120hp today. (94.4kw at 6090 rpm) This makes this little Alfa very drivable even in today's stressful traffic. It feels very light and quick which makes even city driving a lot of fun. There is an incredible amount of money spent on the engine and all technical parts of this car.
History: First registered on the 13th of May 1966 in Italy and then made its way to Germany and finally now in Sweden. It had a major restoration done around year 2000 and has after that been upgraded and very well looked after over the years. Registered in Sweden early 2020 and passed Technical Inspection. Just had a service and ready to drive anywhere. Still has original service book in the little slot on the passenger side, handbook, spare wheel and jack. Receipts for full engine rebuild and all other work collected in a binder.

About Alfa Romeo
Alfa Romeo was initially founded in 1907 in Naples to prepare a French origin Darracq-cars for sale in Italy.

The company did not fare particularly well, so the Italians investors took over the company, which was given the new name of the ALFA (Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili) . Nicola Romeo took over the company in 1918 turning it into ALFA ROMEO.

In 1933 Alfa Romeo was rescued again this time by the government, turning Alfa Romeo into an instrument of Mussolini's Italy, a national emblem that produced luxorious cars for the rich.

However, pre WWII Alfa Romeo is best remembered by its classic Grand Prix cars;
The Vittorio jano designed Alfa Romeo P2 that won the inaugural Automobile World Championship in 1925, the sensational P3 which won its first race driven by Tazio Nuvolari at the Italian Grand Prix, 5 more Grands Prix that year by Nuvolari and Rudolf Caracciola,

As well as, those racing sports cars; the 6C 1750, that Tazio Nuvolari won the Mille Miglia in, the 8C 2300 that won the Le Mans 24 Hours from 1931 to 1934, and finally 8C 2900.
Alfa Corse closed for 1933 and eventually transferred them to Enzo Ferrari's now privatised 'factory' team Scuderia Ferrari

Post war Alfa Romeo might be best remembered by the all alloy Alfa Romeo Twin Cam Hemi engine produced from 1954 to 1994 or those 60's Italian films that all seem to present that quintesential Alfa Giulietta driven by The Carabinieri.

Today any classic Alfa Romeo make a great addition to an Italian car enthusiast's portfolio.
