Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce 1959

General description : ’59 Alfa Romeo Sprint VELOCE series 1 (750E) – unrestored – incredible history
Cars like this come around only once in a lifetime: an unrestored, prefect condition Alfa Romeo Sprint Veloce series 1 (750E). This is not your “average” Sprint, this Veloce weighs 72kg less and has 10 BHP more than the “normal” Sprint. On top of that this car is, except fort he 20yrs ago in original fabric refurbished front seats, completely original. Matching numbers, 90% original blue (!) paint, doorpanels and rear trimming still in protective plastic, original carpets and mats… The car has never been welded anywhere, floors, sills, wheelarches are still the same as when the car left the factory in ’59. The front window-sticker, all typeplates and the hood isolation have never been taken of the car. Even better; the factory-delivery seal is still on the steering column…
As if the configuration and originality of this car aren’t rare enough, its history is possibly even móre special: this was the privatecar of Abele Cavicchioli, a F1-mechanic who’s commonly seen as one of the greatest F1-mechanics ever.
Abele Cavicchioli has constructed racecars for Ettore Bugatti, has worked as mechanic (and later lead-mechanic) for the F1-teams of Alfa Romeo and Ferrari and was responsible for the racecars of heroes such as Juan Manuel Fangio, Nino Farina, Alberto Ascari and Tazio Nuvolari. He helped them to historical victories and even world championships! He was a renowned mechanic until Mario Andretti’s days and remained a personal friend of Juan Manuel Fangio until his death.

There’s lots of pictures and writings available about his F1-adventures and other races he supported such as the Targa Florio and the Mille Miglia and the original registration forms and- plates on his name come with the car.
A once in a lifetime find in perfect original condition with an exceptional and well documented history!

About Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce
The development and history of the Giulietta Sprint Veloce, an enhanced version of the Giulietta Sprint, is an interesting chapter in Alfa Romeo's automotive legacy. Here's an overview of its development and key milestones:

Introduction of the Giulietta Sprint: The Giulietta Sprint, the base model for the Sprint Veloce, was unveiled in 1954. It featured a compact design, a 1.3-liter inline-four engine, and elegant styling that quickly captivated enthusiasts.
Sprint Veloce Variant: Alfa Romeo introduced the Sprint Veloce variant in 1956, targeting performance-oriented drivers. "Veloce" means "fast" in Italian, indicating the enhanced speed and agility of this version.
Engine Enhancements: The Sprint Veloce received several upgrades to its engine, increasing its power output. Initially, it featured a 1.3-liter engine producing 90 horsepower, but subsequent versions saw increases in displacement and power. The final iteration of the Sprint Veloce had a 1.3-liter engine with twin Weber carburetors, producing up to 116 horsepower.
Improved Performance: The Sprint Veloce boasted improved performance compared to the standard Sprint model. It had a higher top speed and quicker acceleration, thanks to its more powerful engine, lightweight construction, and enhanced aerodynamics.
Racing Success: The Sprint Veloce had a successful racing career, competing in various motorsport events of the era. It achieved notable victories, including class wins at the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio, showcasing its capabilities on the track.
Styling and Design: While the exterior design of the Sprint Veloce remained similar to the standard Sprint, it featured specific details that set it apart. These included unique badging, interior trim, and sometimes different wheel options.
Limited Production: Like other high-performance variants, the Sprint Veloce had limited production numbers. Alfa Romeo manufactured a relatively small quantity of these cars, making them highly sought after by collectors.
The Giulietta Sprint Veloce played a significant role in establishing Alfa Romeo's reputation for producing sporty and performance-oriented cars. Its racing success, combined with its improved engine and handling, cemented its status as a desirable model for enthusiasts. Today, the Sprint Veloce is a highly sought-after classic car, valued for its historical significance, rarity, and timeless design.
