Alfa Romeo Spider 4 2.0 Red '91 1991

General description : The Alfa Romeo Spider (105/115 series) was a roadster produced from 1966 to 1993—with small run of 1994 models for the North American market.. The Spider remained in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. The first three series were assembled by Pininfarina in Grugliasco and the fourth series in San Giorgio Genovese. The last Spider was produced in April 1993—the last rear wheel drive Alfa Romeo before the 8C Competizione in 2007. The Series 3 Spider was previewed in North America for the 1982 model year with the introduction of 2.0 liter Bosch electronic fuel injection to replace the SPICA mechanical injection. The Spider underwent a major styling revamp in 1983, which saw the introduction of black rubber front and rear bumpers. The front bumper incorporated the grille and a small soft rubber spoiler was added to the trunk lid. The change altered the exterior appearance of the car considerably and was not universally praised by enthusiasts. Various other minor mechanical and aesthetic modifications were also made, and the 1600 car (never available in North America) dropped the "Junior" name. About Alfa Romeo Spider
The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail, also known as the Alfa Romeo Spider Series 2, is a classic sports car that was produced by Alfa Romeo from 1970 to 1982. Here's some information about its development and features:

1. Development: The Kammtail version of the Alfa Romeo Spider was introduced as a redesign of the original Spider, which was styled by Pininfarina. The Series 2 model featured several updates, including a new "Kamm" or "Kammtail" style rear end.

2. Kammtail Design: The Kammtail design was characterized by a truncated, squared-off rear end with a vertical rear window. This design element was influenced by the research of German aerodynamicist Wunibald Kamm, who found that a tapering rear end could reduce aerodynamic drag.

3. Styling and Features: The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail maintained the classic and elegant lines of its predecessor but featured updates such as a revised front grille, new bumpers, and larger taillights. The interior received some enhancements as well, including improved seating and revised dashboard layout.

4. Engine and Performance: The Spider Kammtail was offered with a range of engines throughout its production run, including inline-four engines with displacements ranging from 1.3 to 2.0 liters. These engines provided spirited performance and a thrilling driving experience, characteristic of Alfa Romeo sports cars.

5. Popularity and Collector Status: The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail has gained popularity among classic car enthusiasts due to its timeless design, open-top driving experience, and relatively accessible pricing compared to some other classic Italian sports cars. It is considered a classic car icon and continues to be appreciated by enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.

6. Cultural Significance: The Spider Kammtail gained significant exposure and recognition through its appearance in the 1967 film "The Graduate," where a red Alfa Romeo Spider played a prominent role. This exposure contributed to its desirability and iconic status.

The Alfa Romeo Spider Kammtail is celebrated for its distinctive design, enjoyable driving dynamics, and its connection to automotive history and pop culture. It remains a sought-after classic car today, valued for its timeless appeal and the exhilaration it provides behind the wheel.
