Austin-Healey 100 1955

General description : This wonderful example of the Healey 100/4 is an early BN1 model with the 3 speed overdrive gearbox and benefits from the later (BN2) disc brake conversion.
Presented in Ice Blue this car is fresh from a re-paint in our workshops and is presented in fabulous yet usable condition. This Healey comes complete with a nice history file, including a photographic record of its restoration in the 1980’s where it was repainted from its original colour of orange to the ever desirable Ice Blue that it wears today. Full weather equipment incuding sidescreens and tonneau are also present with the car. The car can be either supplied with bumpers or de-bumpered.

About Austin-Healey
Austin-Healey was a British sports car make created as a joint-venture between the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and the Donald Healey Motor Company.

First Healey model, Healey 100, was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and developed by Donald Healey to be build in-house. They finished a single Healey Hundred for the 1952 London Motor Show. Leonard Lord, managing director of Austin was so impressed by the design that a deal was duly struck with Healey and the car was renamed the Austin-Healey 100 overnight. Austin Healey was born. 100 derived into 100-six, and different 3000 versions before they quit the production in 1968 as the basic design had finally become obsolete.
