This 1961 Austin Healey 3000 is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. This beautiful Primrose yellow roadster is a true one of a kind find. The current owner has had possession of the car for over 32 years and has all the receipts from the restoration. With the British market heating up as of late this is one of the cars that has been on many of the collector's radars. This gem has all the original panels still intact and it shows. The fitment on this British beauty is one of the best I have seen. The manual 4 speed gearbox is what you would expect with shifts being short and precise. The clutch still feels great and has plenty of life left. The brakes feel great as well with little to no fading. The true knock off wheels are a great 60's era touch and what you would expect on one of these old British 2 seaters. The cooper dual carb set up is a classic touch with the carbs being from England and really feed this 2.69 liter inline six just the right amount of fuel. With the new 4 core radiator keeping the temp just right. If its highway driving, you want to do flip the manual overdrive on and watch as the rpm's drop. With the red interior having light yellow piping it really brings it all together especially with the red convertible top. The car does have side windows that attach as well just like the original corvettes. This is how the left the factory. In the trunk a full size spare and everything you need to change it in the misfortunate event of a flat on the road. Hit the spinner and you will see why they are called knock offs. About Austin-Healey
Austin-Healey was a British sports car make created as a joint-venture between the Austin division of the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and the Donald Healey Motor Company. First Healey model, Healey 100, was based on Austin A90 Atlantic mechanicals and developed by Donald Healey to be build in-house. They finished a single Healey Hundred for the 1952 London Motor Show. Leonard Lord, managing director of Austin was so impressed by the design that a deal was duly struck with Healey and the car was renamed the Austin-Healey 100 overnight. Austin Healey was born. 100 derived into 100-six, and different 3000 versions before they quit the production in 1968 as the basic design had finally become obsolete.
