General description : 4 1/2 Litre H.J. Mulliner Weymann Saloon

Chassis Number: PB3526
Registration number: SW3416
Engine number: KL3600

For those for whom nothing but the best will do.  This magnificant all matching numbers H.J. Mulliner Weymann Saloon as had the external parts completley restored whilst preserving over a several year period of treatment the wonderful leather interior.  You have to see the car to appreciate what has been done to it & the quality of the work done.

The body is the original sallon body as fitted in 1929/30 by H.J. Mulliner of Chiswick to the Weymann patent.  A weymann Plaque between the doors attests to this.

A sample of the old rexine was taken off the body when the fabric was removed.  At vast expense a new tool matching the original pattern was machined up & used to make a 50 meter run of rexine identical to the original material.  This was then used to painstakingly recover the body leaving it presenting in as new condition.

In addition to the coackwork & interior the mechanics have been completly & utterly gone though & rebuilt as required to put the car into perfect order.  Simply put this is one of the best W.O. Bentley's we have handled & is an absolutle credit to the current owners who undertook the work.

Original Bentley Saloons are a rare commodity & a refreshing change from the more prosaic & common pastiche lemans cars we see so regularly.  It is available now for immediate viewings by appointment.  The car wants for nothing & speaks for itself.

About Bentley
Before becoming a mere subsidiary to Rolls-Royce, Bentley was an independent Automaker famous for the "fastest lorries in the world" e.i Bentley 4½ Litre.

Good ol' Bentley boys (A group of wealthy British motorists, mainly Woolf Barnato, Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin, steeplechaser George Duller, aviator Glen Kidston, S.C.H. "Sammy" Davis, and Dr Dudley Benjafield ) -in their trusty Bentley cars- took four consecutive victories at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930

In 1931 Bentley was taken over British Central Equitable Trust that later proved to be a front for Rolls-Royce Limited. Unhappy with his role at Rolls-Royce, W.O. Bentley left the company when his contract expired in 1935 duly joining Lagonda. This was beginning of which ultimately led Bentley cars to become more or less badge-engineered Rolls-Royce.
