Buick Special Stationwagon Lovely condition, very rare, first paint! 1961

General description : The Station-car never became as popular in the States as it did in Europe. Why that would be is difficult to pinpoint. It’s not as if they hadn’t tried. Just like Buick did with this fantastic 1961 Special. It is a lovely model, totally befitting the 60’s era. This one first hit the roads in Pennsylvania in 1961. The car has a 215 Cubic inches (3.5 litre) V8 attached to a 3-speed automatic. The car has been finished in striking “Phoenix Beige”.The bodywork is in good shape with nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. All the brightwork is in good used condition. The Phoenix Beige paintwork is completely original; yes this car still has its first coat of paint! Obviously the paintwork is not new and shows some signs of usage, but for its age it is quite respectable. The Buick’s interior completely chimes with 60’s America. The car has a large bench seat and a lovely minimalistic designed dashboard. How cars used to be so lovely simple and effective in their design. Inside the car and the dashboard are as well kept as the outside. The neat vinyl upholstery completing the whole picture. Good looks are not enough. A car like this has to be just as enjoyable to drive too. This car does exactly that. The 215 aluminium V8 engine delivers 155 PS allowing this Buick to get along just fine on todays highways. The suspension absolutely provides you with the expected level of comfort. It filters out all the road lumps and bumps. So this car is not just a lust for the eye but is also a delight to take to the roads. The car comes with a number of invoices dating back to its time in the States, the old American deeds and the original owner’s manual. This is a wonderful and now very rare Buick Special Station-wagon that has retained its original condition nicely. Gallery Aaldering is Europe’s leading Classic Cars specialist since 1975! About Buick
Buick, today an American automobile division of the American manufacturer General Motors (GM), was founded in 1899 as the Buick Auto-Vim and Power Company, making it the oldest car make in the US.

To us, the most memorable models in Buick's line up have to be the late 40's Roadmasters and 60's stylish Rivieras with strong Italian influences.
