General description : This beautifulred 1955 Chevrolet 210 is for sale in our Gateway Classic Cars Louisville Showroom. The 1955 Chevrolet 150/210/Bel Air is possibly the most influential car of all times. Movies such as “Two Lane Blacktop” and “American Graffiti” have forever ingrained this high performance shoe box in our minds. The classic lines are timeless and there recently appears to be a new demand for these glorious street cars. Under the hood of this bright red beast is a new twist on the ol’Chevy small block. This particular engine displaces 383 cubic inches giving it much torque and horsepower. Stroker engines have gained in popularity over the last decade as many performance companies now offer a crate engine in this configuration. Crate engines take all the guess work out it by giving you completely fresh engine to start with. The engine is back by a Hurst 4-speed manual transmission and you will have a blast shifting through the gears. All the chrome and trim looks to be in good shape with many of the pieces being new. To finish off the exterior look, a set of polished aluminum American Racing Torque Thrust wheels have been added for that classic 50’s look. On the inside the black vinyl interior is new and the tinted windows protect the inside from UV damage without being too dark. A set of aftermarket gauges have been added to keep track of the important stuff. The Hurst shifter finishes out the all business look of the car. Just in case you need a break from the sweet sound of the 383 engine, there is an AM/FM radio with a CD player so you can listen to your favorite tunes, maybe a little “Big Bopper” or some “Frankie Valli”? About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
