Chevrolet 210 Merlin 509 c.i. V8 - 576HP 1956

General description : 1956 Chevrolet Custom 210 Restomod Tri-Five Chevy's are cool to begin with but are also the base for some of the coolest customs on the road.  This beautiful classic takes the already sleek body lines of the '56 Chevy and steps it up a notch incorporating modern performance to match its classic looks.  This car has been set up to be very road worthy while looking awesome at the same time.  It is a very high end build where no corners were cut throughout.  You aren't going to find a weak untouched area any where you look.  It underwent a full body off rotisserie restoration that was completed 2,439 miles ago.  So not only is it a very clean car, the restoration is still very fresh.  If you were to undertake this type of project your own you would invest much more than our asking price so why not take advantage of someone else's hard work and end up with a freshly restored car for a fraction of the price!  Over $100,000 was invested and the car comes with all receipts and build information.  The body is very straight and solid throughout.  It is painted in a PPG Ford Wimbledon White Pearl and PPG Emerald Green which really looks good.  The paint has a very slick finish and was all professionally done.  Every piece of stainless and chrome on the car has been replaced so it all looks brand new.  In exchange for the original bumpers ,California smooth bumpers where used instead which can really change the look up on these mid 50's classics for the better.  The glass is all in good condition and both the windshield and all other windows have been smoke tinted.  The car sits on a set of 17 inch Budnik wheels with fresh tires (F-245/40ZR17, R-315/35ZR17).  In the back the car is tubbed to make room for a wider tire. Why have a wider tire you ask?  Well this clean '56 no longer relies on its original 265 c.i. motor to cruise down the road.  It is now propelled by a 509c.i. Merlin big block to get those tires spinning.  It has been fitted with a Arizona Speed & Marine fuel injection system with a F.A.S.T. ECU.  It cranks out 576 hp at 5,000 rpm and comes with a laptop for tuning.  It also features a March front runner serpentine system and Sanderson ceramic coated heads that deliver a great sound through the dual exhaust.  In addition to being high performance it is built to be shown off as well with chrome and polished components everywhere you look.  The inner fenders and firewall are painted to match so this is definitely a classic you will want the hood up at shows.  Below are the standard specs for the Merlin 509 that is pro built by World Racing Products which extensively dyno test and evaluate their engines prior to shipment. The entire rest of the car was built to handle its newly installed horsepower.  This includes a modified stock frame with two extra cross members, a built up 700R4 automatic transmission, a Kugel independent rear end with 4:10 gears, and a Jim Meyer Racing independent front suspension.  It has been converted to electric/hydraulic all wheel disc brakes which utilizes stainless brake lines throughout.  It also has a rack & pinion power steering system.  Keeping the big block running nice and cool is a Mobile Air aluminum radiator with custom core support and electric fans.  The electrical was completely redone with a Ron Francis express fuse panel, wiring and sub panel.  Other notable features include the dual yellow top Optima batteries (relocated to trunk) and a custom built aluminum 19 gallon fuel tank.  The interior was custom designed as well marrying a beautiful combination of customization with a touch of originality.  It features all leather double stitched upholstery with a two tone Tan with Beige inserts.  Between the Glide bucket seats is a custom built center console to provide additional storage space along with power window controls, a Lokar shifter, and a Pioneer stereo.  Along with the Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit are after market speakers and a Kenwood Amp to provide an excellent sound.  For the power windows Specialty regulators were used and they function smoothly.  In front of the driver sits a chrome Ididit tilt steering column topped off with a custom steering wheel.  The dash has some of the original layout but still has its share of modifications.  The original trim section now has a billet trim piece with inset center vents for the Vintage AC/Heat unit.  There are also some under dash vents and the AC works well.  In the original gauge bezel there is now a Classic Instruments direct fit all in one gauge.  Everything has a really clean look. This is one cool '56 Chevy and needs nothing but a new person smiling behind the wheel! This car has been SOLD! Please check out our other ads!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
