Chevrolet 3100 5 Window 235 I6 1951

General description : Description
The right mix of a terrific vintage appearance with subtle modern upgrades makes this restored 1951 Chevrolet 3100 five-window shining time capsule that's also easy to enjoy today.
You can tell the full restoration on this truck was a true labor of love. The Signal Red paint has an outstanding shine, and there's a terrifically smooth feeling as you run your hands over the curvy front fenders. In fact, the whole body shows the look and fit of extra time taken for quality. And when a truck looks this shiny and smooth, only the best brightwork will do on places like the bumpers, wheel covers, and that iconic art deco grille. It's a truly nostalgic machine from the whitewall tires to the real lumber in the truck bed. And while this one really does look like you just brought it home from the Chevy dealer in 1951, there are a few well-integrated upgrades. The crystal-clear headlights illuminate the way better and look awesome next to all the shining chrome on the front end. In the rear, there are blue-dot taillights, and the fuel filler is in the bed because the gas tank was relocated to a more ideal placement underneath.
The desirable five-window cab means you get more light inside, and so it's get to have such a well-done interior. The new tan bench seat, smooth dash, excellent headliner, and clean door panels with armrest make this feel quite nice. The factory gauges look well-kept, and the heater is ideal for those easy mornings on the way to Car and Coffee. And while the radio looks like it's a classic AM unit, this one actually gives you provisions for AM/FM and Bluetooth. In fact, everything here was given a good refresh except for one piece: the steering wheel. By leaving it original, you get to feel the generations of workmen who came before you.
There was plenty more attention to detail under the hood. You have a clean look with the bold block, and everything is looking correct, right down to the AC decal on the air cleaner. The 3100-series trucks famously relied on the Chevy's trusty inline-six motor, and that tradition continues here...but with some nice additions. First, this is a 235 cubic-inch engine, which is larger than anything that was offered in pickups for '51. Plus, the Williams exhaust manifolds give you a true dual exhaust. Not only does it make a sweet sound with the glasspack mufflers, but also you'll love seeing their path in the exceptionally fresh undercarriage photos. This one really gives you the classic truck feel, right down to the four-speed maul transmission with the ultra-low granny gear firs for the real pickup experience.
The sale comes with a binder of build receipts/info and restoration photos. You're looking at the ideal vintage setup for showing off and enjoying a meandering Sunday drive. Such a nice all-around classic pickup is a package we're all looking for, so don't miss out. Call today!!!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
