Description : Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to introduce this super-custom 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale. This '57 custom is an homage to a similar '57 Bel Air that Dave Jenkins used to show, with a few slight differences. Although Jenkins' car was black with silver scallops, and had slightly deeper (lower) fender skirts, but they both pay excellent tribute to what a "back in the day" 1957 Bel Air custom would have been. Covered in a beautiful Majestic Red, with custom silver scallops adorning the sides, this is one sleek Tri-Five. The car was nosed (had the "gunsights" filled in), decked, shaved, and lowered 3 inches. Sporting a 1957 Buick grille, "bubble" fender skirts, lake pipes, 1957 Nomad rear bumper, custom taillights, dummy spots, custom tuck and roll upholstery, a 350 CID small block Chevy V8, and power front discs, this is a classic cruiser in the best sense. The gorgeous paint scheme screams "I'm custom everywhere else, too" at its admirers. The circa-2000 Chevrolet 350 CID Crate V8 (with its Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edelbrock 4BBL carb) provides plenty of power to the TH350 3-speed automatic, and its header-equipped dual exhaust with Smithy's mufflers provides the muscle sound to supplement the biceps under the hood. The front end was completely rebuilt with new springs and bushings, the front and rear springs are new, new shocks were installed all around, the front suspension was lowered with 2-inch drop spindles, the rear suspension was lowered, new wiring, new fuel tank and sending unit, new retro-style AM/FM radio was installed, and a totally new custom tuck and roll interior was installed. It maintains its stock dash configuration, has a stock steering wheel, Lokar shifter, rebuilt speedometer, Lokar shifter, and that cool silver and black synthetic leather seating with seat belts. Vintage Dodge Lancer hubcaps adorn the body-color-matched wheels, and Coker wide whitewall radials complete the vintage street rod look but provide much better ride quality than the bias ply tires of old. Additional features and options on this slick '57 Bel Air custom include Air Conditioning, AM/FM Stereo with Cassette, Door Poppers, Power Brakes, Power Locks, Seat Belts, Radial Tires, Spare Tire and Jack, Seat Belts, and Vinyl Interior. This is a true V8 Bel Air, with a "VC" VIN. Don't let this nostalgic ride escape you!
