Chevrolet C10 283 V8 1966

General description : FRESHLY PAINTED & VERY CLEAN! ONE FAMILY OWNED! 283 V8, 3 SPEED, READY TO GO!

This 1966 Chevrolet C10 is about as fresh out of the restoration shop as a classic can be. It's logged under 200 miles since its build, where its rugged, unmistakable first generation looks have been kept intact while just a touch of customization was added to set it apart from the crowd. It still carries its original drivetrain - quite an accomplishment for a truck more than a half-century old - and will pull into its new owner's garage with its original bill of sale sitting in its glove box. This sturdy truck strikes a great balance - you'll find no jarring alterations to detract from its vintage charm and it still wear its original white color that's received a fairly recent skillful freshening up, while a few aftermarket elements have been added to the mix to enhance its uniqueness, including a beefy front bumper sitting below the very clean grille, side mirrors and LED headlights and taillights. Upping its vitality level even further, new glass surrounds the cabin, with fresh rubber seals in place for protection against the elements. With its drop center ladder frame, the C10 sits lower over its suspension than most of its counterparts of the era, but there's still plenty of wheel clearance for navigation over less forgiving terrain. The newer exterior elements blend in well with the original components, making for a very appealing vintage truck with a road-ready, "can do" vibe.
The saddle brown and white vinyl interior inside the doors closely matches the theme set by the exterior. It mirrors the original color scheme of this C10, though it's likely an upgrade from factory issue as far as craftsmanship and materials are concerned. The dash area, painted white to match the exterior and sitting over an expanse of fresh brown carpeting, adds a very effective visual touch. With the truck having logged so few miles, the two-tone bench seat hasn't borne the weight of many occupants, so it still looks new. The stock steering wheel still sits on its column, while just in front the dash area looks to have been stripped down to bare metal before being repainted and features a set of Dolphin gauges in its chrome accented instrument cluster whose vintage font is perfectly suited to a vintage ride like this. This is a long bed in the literal sense - there's quite a bit of real estate in back of the cab - and the wooden planks on the bed floor have been thoroughly treated with varnish and clear coat to last a very long time.
The numbers-matching drivetrain on this noble truck is still intact, the foundation of which is a 283 cubic inch V8 that's equipped with a 4-barrel Holley carb and Summit Racing intake manifold for some added power, and it sounds strong as it vocalizes out of its Flowmaster exhaust. It sits in the center of an orderly engine bay, right next to a sizable horn to announce this pickup's presence with enthusiasm. The engine is paired with a 3-speed TH350 transmission and both were rebuilt a little while back, as was the rear end. A number of other components were replaced to up the dependability of this classic, including its exhaust, shocks, wiring harness and brakes, so it's ready to hit the road on its set of 15" stock Chevy wheels outfitted with chrome caps and wearing Yokohama Avid touring tires that were very recently installed.
It's not often that you come across a vintage truck with the sharp looks of this 1966 Chevrolet C10 and even rarer still when you factor in its rock-solid driving condition. Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
