Legendary Motorcar is proud to present this 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Chevelle

The famous story of Don Yenko and his COPO ordered cars is well known amongst muscle car enthusiasts. Yenko Chevrolet was one of the most notable dealers who knew the sneaky way of specially ordering factory-built cars with drive trains that officially should not have been available. Once he added his specific graphics and optional wheels, interior and gauges, the cars they were selling were among the fastest street cars around and today represent some of the most sought-after collector cars to emerge from the muscle car era.

For 1969, Don Yenko managed to get his hands on only 95 Chevelle’s factory built with the L72 427 engine, presented here is one of them. Sold new at Nankivell Chevrolet in Indianapolis Indiana. Special ordered with COPO 9694 package, this factory Butternut Yellow Chevelle was delivered equipped like you see it today, with black vinyl top and black interior, of course with the sYc embroidery on the headrests! A look at this Yenko and you can see the car rolled off the assembly line with the desirable options of power disc brakes, power steering and rear mounted antenna. With original Yenko cars being so rare and unique it is easy to justify a complete nut and bolt no expense spared rotisserie restoration to a very high level. Having been collector owned, this car has been meticulously maintained since the completion of the restoration and shows beautifully from the top to the bottom. The correct Yenko components are all there including a column mounted tach, Hurst dual gate shifter, under dash gauges, Yenko wheels and of course the signature Yenko/SC striping. This car today is among the most desirable Chevelle’s ever produced a documented Yenko with a meticulous no expense spared restoration. It comes complete with build sheet, statement of authenticity from Vince Emme as per the original Yenko Chevrolet records and it is of course listed on the 1969 Yenko Chevelle Vin roster.

Yenko muscle cars are the first of the true Super Cars and are certainly a very important piece of automotive history. To find one restored to this level and complete with this documentation mark a unique opportunity to purchase a true American Muscle Car icon

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
