Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible 1970

General description : If you grew up around a set of wrenches, you know nothing screams MUSCLE CAR louder than a Chevelle Super Sport. And even though the MoPar camp does a pretty good job of representing brute force, and the blue oval boys had their fair share of big engine glory, terms like '396', 'Muncie' and 'big block' are probably some of the first sounds you remember hearing. Thankfully the significance of those terms only grows with time and education, making cars like this impressive Chevrolet drop-top all the more desirable. And currently, decked in classic white on red war paint, this awesome A-Body is the product of an extensive, ground-up restoration that fostered a return to factory glory and then some. Looking to own one of the world's most sought after muscle cars? This show stopping Chevelle is fully-sorted and ready to please!
CRANBERRY DELIGHT
The beneficiary of a nut-and-bolt, rotisserie restoration that was completed by a dedicated enthusiast who's built nine vintage Chevys, this awesome Chevelle presently rolls in better-than-new condition. Naturally, that detailed reboot, one of six the enthusiast has conducted on Chevelles, began with a fully stripped body. That massaged profile, spending most of its years right here in North Carolina, was resprayed in brilliant Cranberry Red 2-stage, which looks especially dynamic under a bright White top and Classic White Super Sport Stripes. All expected Super Sport trim is present and accounted for, from the black grille and pinned Cowl Induction Hood to the ornate emblems and black bumper inlay. And today, this spectacular muscle car combines the best aspects of big block Chevrolet performance with the gratuitous fun and old school style that only a classic drop-top can provide.
SS396
Pushing 375 horsepower straight from the factory, this Super Sport's ferocious Turbo-Jet V8 is clean, classic and ready to rumble! That engine funnels power to a tough Muncie M21 4-speed, which spins a familiar 12-bolt axle that's finished with a posi-trac differential and big, 3.73 gears. That killer drivetrain rolls on a clean F41 Special Performance Suspension, which, per the factory, is equipped with thicker coils, heavy duty shocks, mandatory sway bars, boxed rear control arms and beefy cross braces. At the edges of that suspension, correct power steering combines with correct power front disc and rear drum brakes to provide greatly improved handling. Fried dinosaurs travel through a fresh, true-dual exhaust system that's complete with polished stainless tips. And torque meets the pavement through stainless-trimmed Super Sport wheels, which twist 225/70R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/As around correct SS center caps.
PARCHMENT PERFECTION
Open this second generation Chevelle's solid doors and you'll find a classy Parchment interior. That fully restored cockpit is centered on fresh bucket seats. At the front of those thrones, a crack-free dash hangs optional Deluxe telemetry next to a retro FM stereo. At the base of that dash, fade-free carpet floats monochromatic mats around a factory console and a traditional Hurst shifter. At the sides of that carpet, stainless-trimmed door panels add a little visual pop. The driver turns a reproduction Chevrolet Rally Wheel around a tilting column. And the passengers fill a fully restored trunk that wraps a full-size spare tire in a correct jack, a fresh mat and correct decklid decals.
At roughly half the cost and twice the fun of a numbers-matching LS6, this killer Chevelle is the total package! With a powerful big block, a tough Muncie 4-speed and a first class restoration, it's a fully-sorted classic that virtually spells the term 'bragging rights'. If you're ready to add some fresh firepower to your automotive arsenal, don't miss the chance to take home this sweet Chevrolet legend!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
