Chevrolet Chevelle 1970

General description : There are quite a few reasons why we sell so many top-notch Chevelles. For starters, the Chevelle is, in many enthusiasts' minds, the quintessential American muscle car. Given the marque's big production numbers, they're pretty easy to find. And, thanks to broad aftermarket support, they're fairly easy to build and maintain. That said; every classic takes patience. And building a project to the level of this awesome Super Sport can quickly fall into a lifelong saga. That's why, increasingly, enthusiasts are walking directly into our showroom and kicking the words 'finding' and 'building' right out of the conversation. Wrapping polished aesthetics around a custom chassis, a leather-lined cockpit and a spry LS3 drivetrain, this sweet resto-mod is all about the phrase 'quintessential American muscle car'!
SIX FIGURES OF PROFESSIONAL BUILD
Buff, bad and ready to roll, this pristine drop-top is the beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up build that pushed nearly $300,000 in costs. That nut-and-bolt reboot, conducted by the pros at Woodstock, Illinois' Schwartz Performance, dressed slick Tuxedo Black 2-stage in Pearl Super Sport Stripes. And today, this handsome Chevy walks a fine line between tastefully modern and traditionally conservative. At the front of the car's sinister profile, a stainless-trimmed grille centers a prominent 'SS' emblem between Euro-spec headlights and a broad bumper that's finished with clear parking lamps. At the top of that grille, a familiar Cowl Induction Hood flows to factory-tint glass that's framed in straight stainless and capped in tight canvas. At the sides of the car, bright 'SS' emblems add a little pizzazz while traditional door handles perfectly complement a duo of factory mirrors. And out back, a second broad bumper stretches a clean SS inlay between polished exhaust tips, conservative taillights and a classy Chevelle trunk script.
LS NATION
Gaze upon this Chevy's glossy, billet-trimmed engine bay and you'll find 6.2 liters of modern GM small block that provides a perfect blend of athleticism and drivability. Officially known as the Chevrolet Performance LS3, that fresh crate engine twists respectable 10.7 to 1 compression into 430 horsepower and 425 lb./ft. of torque. At the top of the block, a custom air tube funnels wind in to a proven GM throttle body, which feeds a lightweight GM intake. That air meets spark in rectangular-port L92-style heads, which ride under trick Carbon Fiber rail covers. A nodular crank, powdered connecting rods and hypereutectic pistons compress that volatile union. A bumpy hydraulic roller cam maximizes intake efficiency through better breathing. Speaking of breathing, the smooth mill funnels spent gases through Schwartz long-tube headers. There's a tidy Be Cool radiator that's slid between a polished expansion tank and two SPAL puller fans. And attractive March serpentine components spin a polished alternator opposite a polished AC compressor.
LOOKS GREATS, DRIVES GREAT
Take a gander under this cool A-Body and you'll find a sturdy Schwartz G-Machine chassis that wraps a web of boxed and tubed bracing in smooth, Satin Black powdercoat. Those bones are sandwiched between solid floorpans that have been appropriately over-restored, and a custom suspension that's been finished with quality RideTech coil-overs. Behind the LS3, a tough 4L60E 4-speed spins a tough Moser 9-inch, which spins a familiar Truetrac differential around big, 3.70 gears. Stopping is a cinch thanks to drilled and slotted rotors, which get grabbed by power-assisted Baer 6-piston calipers. Turns come courtesy of modern power rack-and-pinion steering. Exhaust is handled by a series of aluminized pipes, which swirl spent gases through an H-shaped crossover and polished turbo mufflers. And at the corners, Continental Extreme Contacts, sized 265/40ZR18 and 285/40ZR18, twist polished Boyds wheels.
CLASSIC WITH A TOUCH OF MODERN
Check the car's clean interior and you'll find a familiar muscle car aesthetic that's had modern convenience integrated where it counts. Crisp front buckets are custom units that, along with a factory rear bench, have been stitched in glowing leather. Front and center, a monochromatic dash founds Dakota Digital VHX telemetry beside modern, direct-fit audio and controls for Vintage Air conditioning. At the edges of that dash, integrated Kenwood kick speakers lead custom side panels, which front easy power windows. A factory console surfs a factory horseshoe shifter on plush Haargarn carpet. The driver enjoys the car's power through a polished and half-wrapped steering wheel, which laps a tilting column. And the passenger's stow essentials in a custom-upholstered trunk.
With its smooth LS3, custom chassis and fresh leather interior, this awesome Chevelle combines excellent power with athletic handling and classic American appeal. Nothing's simply 'adequate' about this car; it's an exceptionally well-done street machine that'll provide years of invigorating performance and turn heads anywhere it goes. If you're looking for a stunning Detroit super star that has the muscle to back up its killer good looks, this clean Chevy is your next cruiser!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
