Chevrolet Chevelle 1970

General description : Looking for a cool piece of Americana that'll turn heads anywhere it goes? If you're in the market for some vintage metal that's stylish, powerful and has lots of history, who says you have to buy a stuffy, high maintenance trailer queen? Just pick up the phone, call your friends at RK Motors Charlotte and we'll hook you up with a great car like this awesome Chevelle Super Sport! Combining a hot LSX 454 V8 with a tough Tremec 6-speed and sinister black-on-black aesthetics, this gruff ground-pounder draws big crowds and big compliments. And if you're one of the many enthusiasts looking for a fun classic that's unrelentingly cool, it's your ticket to good times and great memories!
SOMETHING WICKED
The beneficiary of a body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration that was completed by Sugarloaf, Pennsylvania's Tony's Muscle Cars, this awesome A-Body has been lovingly coated in rich black 2-stage paint that's as slick as oil on a hot drag strip! At the front of the car's tastefully modified body, a familiar split-grille centers an ornate 'SS' badge on a small 'CHEVELLE' script, bright halogen headlights and a mirrored bumper that's finished with clear parking lamps. Behind that grille, a smooth Cowl Induction Hood flows to a trim-free windshield, which leads shaved drip rails and a trim-free backlite. At the sides of that hood, a stainless-lined profile centers factory mirrors and Kindig-it flush-mount door handles between bold fender emblems, integrated marker lamps and shaved door locks. And at the back of that profile, a second mirrored bumper centers fresh tail lamps and a traditional Super Sport inlay between a shaved decklid and integrated exhaust tips.
LSX-CELLENCE
Hoist this Chevy's low-rise hood and you'll find a 454 cubic inch, 627 horsepower Chevrolet Performance LSX 454 V8 that's wedged inside a clean, carefully modified engine bay. Straight from the General, this exclusive package utilizes a tough iron block, a forged 4340 crank, forged 4340 rods, forged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic roller cam to turn stout 11 to 1 compression into 586 lb./ft. of pavement-slaying torque! At the front of the mill, a remote Spectre filter element funnels wind through a polished tube, which is cinched to a proven GM throttle body. Behind that valve, an LSX-LS7 intake feeds aluminum LSX-LS7 heads, which hide spry roller lifters under custom fuel rail covers and painted LSX 454 valve covers. Beside those covers, flashy stainless headers frame Straub Extreme Race Plug Wires, which snake toward relocated coil packs. Just behind those packs, polished serpentine components spin an aluminum water pump between a polished alternator, a polished AC compressor and modern power steering. And in front of that pump, a polished Be Cool radiator cycles coolant around chrome puller fans.
THE OTHER HALF OF $19K
That small block is trailed by a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed that, when combined with the engine, rang up $19,412 before installation. That tough transmission spins a Currie 9-inch axle around big, 3.73 gears. That pumpkin pushes a lowered F41 Sport Suspension that's been augmented with modern control arms and bathed in contrasting paint. A polished master cylinder joins a body-matched brake booster to cinch Wilwood 4 and 6-piston calipers around drilled and slotted discs. Under the body-matched floors, a custom exhaust sends spent gases through an H-shaped crossover, electric Granatelli cutouts and throaty turbo mufflers. And everything rolls on chrome Ridler 645 wheels, which lap 235/40R18 Nitto Invo redlines in front of 275/40ZR20 Nitto Invo redlines.
CLASSIC VIBES
Combining modern aesthetic with timeless style, this Chevelle's tasteful interior is a perfect place to cruise the day away! Seating is provided by plush TMI thrones. At the base of those leather and suede thrones, cut-pile carpet centers a factory console on a traditional Hurst shifter. In front of that shifter, a padded dash founds crisp Dakota Digital HDX telemetry next to modern air conditioning and modern RetroSound audio. The driver spins a polished steering wheel around a tilting column. And the passengers store gear in a custom-upholstered trunk.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
