Chevrolet Corvette 235 I6 1954

General description : Concourse Restoration, Very Rare

It was late 1953 and Chevrolet decided to start producing two seater sports cars out of fiberglass. This was a big undertaking in it's day. People were used to driving big and heavy American cars. Then the Corvette started to come down the assembly line. Most of the initial cars were given to top brass in Chevrolet, but by the end of 1953 they started selling them to the public. By the time 1954 rolled around the public could not wait to get their hands on this cool little sports car. This is when the Corvette fever really got started. You could get them in white with red interior, 4 of them were also made in black with red interior. Right in the middle is the car that Just Toys Classic Cars is very proud to present. This here is one of the finest examples of a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette that you will find on the market today. They only made 300 of these in the Pennant Blue with Tan interior that you see here. To give you the over all numbers that year were 3,640. That means that 3,336 of them were white with red interior, making this an extremely rare car.
As we said, everything on this car has been done to a very high standard. The Pennant Blue paint is absolutely miles deep, the chrome is so bright you need shades to look at it and you could shave in it. This restoration was done in 2009 and no expense was spared and many NOS items were used in the restoration. This car has its original 235 cubic inch "Blue Flame" 6 cylinder mated to the original cast iron powerglide transmission. This 150 HP all goes out the original rear end as well. This car is just super fun to drive.
The minute that you slide in to this very comfortable Tan interior it takes you right back in time. Your chest sticks out a little bit further, that permanent ear to ear grin gets on your face like a kid in a candy store and you haven't even hit the key yet. You just know that you are sitting in a piece of history that is very special. As if you would not want that wind blowing through your hair, you will see in the pics that the top as everything else is new as well and the "side curtain" windows are in its own stow away bag in the trunk. Now hit that key and listen to those exhaust pipes come to life. All that is left is to throw this bad boy in to drive and start to feel that 223 lb-ft of torque as you hit the open road.
Get ready to make all the new friends in the world when you take this baby out. You better get your thumb muscles working for all the thumbs up you are going to be giving back to people. This truly is a special car that will be your kids college fund and 401K all wrapped up in to one. Cars of this caliber have sold as high as $242,000. It is getting harder and harder to find ones this clean in the market place. Especially with only 300 made in 1954.
We offer classic car financing for those that would like to take advantage of the option. They offer great rates and terms with as little as 10% down. This way you do not have to take all of your cash out of the bank at once to get the car of your dreams. You can take another part of that money and invest it in something else so then your car in your garage is making you money and your money is making you money. Truly best of both worlds. We look forward to speaking with you soon, and we look forward to making you the newest member of the Just Toys Classic Cars family.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.

Whether you are looking for a classic Chevy or something else you are guaranteed to find one for sale here at www.classicdigest.com
