Powerful 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible
The next amazing classic up for grabs in our Fairfield showroom is this gorgeous 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 2 Door Convertible with Sunfire Yellow exterior paint and a black vinyl interior.  You’ll find a blueprinted and balanced 427 cid V-8 engine under the hood with power steering, power brakes, side pipes and a 4-speed manual transmission, plus a new frame, new trailing arms, reproduction wheels and a quartz clock.  This able performer is a true joy to drive as well and it would make a fantastic driver for any Vette enthusiast.
Rare A. O. Smith Body w/ Balanced & Blueprinted 427 V-8
This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible comes with a NCRS Origin Certificate to show that it was built in St. Louis with an A.O. Smith body (#5832) and a final assembly date of March 29th, 1966.  It was originally sold at Harry May Chevrolet/Cadillac in Monroe, Michigan.  The current owner informs us that the transmission and differential could possibly be numbers-matching as well, although he does not have any documentation to support that belief.  We can tell you that the 427 under the hood is very strong and delivers excellent overall performance.
Additionally, this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Roadster has seen extensive upgrades in recent years including fresh paint in the factory color, a new frame, new electric antennae, re-chromed bumpers, new reproduction wheels, a rebuilt carburetor and more.  It also appears the factory interior has been replaced with a reproduction black vinyl.  We have extensive service receipts on file, showing all that has been done to this 'Vette.
In terms of its present condition, this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Roadster shows average levels of wear/tear for a typical driver.  The exterior body has several blemishes that show through the recent respray- the next owner would likely want to address these issues to bring this one back to true show quality.  Likewise, the engine compartment and the interior are pretty clean with a great factory look.  As we previously stated though, the overall performance is excellent in this pure driver.
A Fantastic Steal at a Rock Bottom Asking Price
Overall, this 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray 2 Door Convertible is a rare, highly desirable example that begs to be brought back to its former glory.  It has everything serious collectors look for in a restoration candidate and it’s an absolute steal at the current asking price.   Don’t sleep on this one- it will be sold quickly!  For more information about this vehicle, visit our Fairfield, California showroom, give us a call at 707-419-8200, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com.  Be sure to mention Stock # F13365 as well.

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
