Chevrolet Corvette 427 CID V8 1963

General description : Now for sale in our Houston showroom is this awesome Brandywine Red Metallic 1963 Chevrolet Corvette roadster restomod. This car's build was commissioned by William Wilson and was built by Dennis Lesser at Quality Craft South. From its gorgeous paint to its crazy-wicked Bill Mitchell-built "Hardcore 427" V8 that puts out 550HP and custom suspension, this is one nasty purpose-built roadster...and that purpose is to go fast on whatever road you want to drive. Whether it's in the twisties or straight down the quarter, this car can do it with authority and aggressiveness. The body is gorgeous, and the paint looks fantastic in any light. The customized Stinger-style hood with its matte black accent is the only non-original body part, and it is further accentuated by the snorkel for the big carb. The doors snap shut with a satisfying "chunk", and the fitment is very good, with no rattles other issues that often plagued older cars "back in the day". Its chassis is a stock 1963 Corvette roadster chassis with a few "enhancements", including being fully powder-coated (for more, see below)...Under the hood is where the magic happens, though: the awesome 427 CID small block is putting out a ton of naturally-aspirated horsepower. Topped by a QuickFuel FX4710 4BBL carb and Motown aluminum high-rise intake, the 427 barks to life with authority. Its MSD Digital E-Curve Distributor provides all the spark necessary to keep the fires burning, and the custom-fabbed chrome-plated long-tube headers scavenge the exhaust gases into the barely-muffled chrome Hooker side pipes. Backed by a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual with its scattershield-enclosed heavy-duty clutch, the nasty 427 gets all its power to the ground via the special Shark Bite IRS rear end and does so very effectively. A massive Be-Cool aluminum radiator with its thermostatically controlled electric fan keeps the 427 cool, and the Gilmer accessory belt drive enhances the reliability of driving the water pump and alternator. Plus, it just looks cool! With the Shark Bite IRS out back, tubular control arms with coil-overs up front, and the custom Flaming River rack and pinion steering, this car keeps all 4 tires firmly planted to the asphalt in the corners, and will likely outrun most any modern performance car around nearly any road-race track that you want to compete with them on. Speaking of "planted tires", this 'Vette sports 225/45ZR-17 BFG G-Force T/A radials up front, and 245/40-18 Mickey Thompson ET Street radials out back, wrapped around 5-spoke American Racing lightweight aluminum wheels. Behind each of are heavy-duty 4-piston Corvette brake calipers, with stainless-sleeved pistons to keep the calipers operating reliably while they snare the rotors stop after stop. Inside the cockpit, one will find a mostly stock-looking interior, with some subtle, and some not-so-subtle upgrades. On the subtle side, as is also evident on the exterior, all the chrome is in great shape; and the interior upholstery and carpet look practically new, as do the custom lightweight seats. On the not-so-subtle side, the chrome-plated roll hoops, G-Force Racing Gear harness belts, carbon-fiber-look center panel, and the aluminum dash panel that houses a set of AutoMeter ProComp gauges all combine to indicate that this car is meant to be driven by only those who are very competent at driving high-performance vehicles. If you want an AC Cobra-eater that's not a kit car, and don't want to pay AC Cobra price, this is the car for you. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
