Chevrolet Corvette LS2 6.0L V8 1978

General description : Gateway Classic Cars of Detroit is proud to offer this truly breathtaking of a build, 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Resto-Mod! More than 4,000 hours of labor over 6 years (completed in Spring 2017) have been put into this truly unique touring vehicle. This vehicle was featured in the July 2018 issue of Corvette Magazine, took 1st place in its class award at 2018 Detroit Autorama, finished top 25 out of over 2,000 vehicles at 2017 Frankenmuth AutoFest, and took two 1st place awards at 2017 Corvettes America Show, along with other awards from local car events. Starting with the body of this Corvette, it consists of all fiberglass and has numerous custom finishes. The front fascia is molded into the fenders to eliminate bodyline, the front license plate area was reworked to follow the bodylines, and the side marker lamps were custom molded into the body. The rear fascia was also custom molded to reveal quad exhaust tips, and the rear side marker lamps were molded into the body as well. The headlights were custom created from a C6 Corvette headlight. The custom work flows through the interior of this gorgeous Corvette. The interior was stripped from a C6 Corvette and custom fitted into this C3 Corvette. The Corbeau racing seats finished in black leather with red accent stitching fit very well in the black and red color scheme that runs throughout the interior. Other nice touches that have been added to this custom interior include Autometer gauges, custom leather door panels, leather wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, and power windows and locks. The chassis that is equipped to this car is a Collier Technologies Stainless Steel C3 frame with an electro-polished finish. The wheels on this Corvette are Chrome C7 Z06 replica wheels, wrapped in sticky Hankook Ventus tires. Other suspension and chassis modifications include 4-wheel independent coil-over and control arm suspension, Dana 44 rear-end, hydro boost braking system with 6-piston Baer performance brakes with drilled and slotted rotors, rack-and-pinion steering, and stainless-steel fuel tank. The heart of this amazing build is a GM LS2 6.0L crate engine with EFI Edelbrock E-Force intercooled supercharger. Supplying a booming noise from that powerplant are Kooks stainless coated long-tube headers, custom Magnaflow dual exhaust with electric muffler bypass valves for straight piped exhaust. Backing that amazing engine is Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
