Chevrolet Corvette Callaway Twin Turbo 1988

General description : In the late '80s and early '90s, few automobiles were more feared than Callaway Corvettes. Closely tied to GM's factory operations, Callaway's hotted up versions of the fourth-generation Vette helped firmly establish the Corvette brand as a global tour de force. From 1987 to 1991, select American Chevrolet dealers offered the storied Callaway Twin Turbo as Regular Production Option B2K. When that magical box was checked, the car was shipped directly from Bowling Green Assembly to Callaway Cars in Old Lyme, Connecticut for a quick conversion from to sports car to super star. RPO B2K marks the only time in Chevrolet history where GM allowed dealer-ordered, non-factory performance to enhance their corporate halo. And today, this sweet Twin Turbo Vette, a fully documented, 14,828-mile time capsule, is a unique and equally awesome classic that'll slay the stoplight and steal the show!
One of only 105 RPO B2K Corvettes ordered through Chevrolet dealers for the 1988 model year, this accident-free coupe is a fully documented garage queen that's assembly line perfect in virtually every way. The car's original Black paint, rolling a mere 14,828 miles since being sprayed, is a crisp testament to decades of top-notch preservation. Clean reflections dance across a lightweight body that displays precise fit and good finish under ancillary hardware that functions well and seals great. And since the car's world class Callaway build has never been altered in any way, it remains one seriously capable sports car that's both collectable and appealing!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
