Chevrolet El Camino 396 CID V8 1972

General description : This awesome 1972 Chevrolet El Camino is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The El Camino, or ELCO, were originally known for the car with a bed appearance. That would all change with the release of the 68 model which had the optional big block engine. With there updated styling and performance people began to take them seriously as a true Muscle Car. This 72 is one of the rare ELCOs that had the classic muscle car options that still make people go crazy today. Lets just start with the most important pert of a muscle car, whats under the hood. Though not the original 396 that came in the car this big block sounds great and even runs better. With it being recently rebuilt it is fresh and ready to go. The built 700r4 transmission allows for highway cruising with the OD really coming in handy for that next road trip. The 12 Bolt posi is tough and exactly what you need when having that big block under the hood. Speaking of hood this ELCOs has cowl induction that works. Smash the gas and watch as the door flips up allowing for some fresh air to feed that 396. The black racing stripes give the ELCO a look that everyone knows and fears. Inside is where this ELCO sets itself apart from the pack. Decoded to be an original bucket seat car with the console mounted shifter this truly is a rare find. Add to all this the round gauges and tach in the dash she truly is a special car. If you are looking for something that you can take on a trip in comfort while getting thumbs up as you rumble pass them this 72 ELCO is the car for you. Options on this 1972 Chevrolet El Camino include AC, Power Steering, Power Brakes. Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, and Custom Wheels wrapped with Radial Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
