Chevrolet Impala 427 CID V8 1968

General description : This 1968 427 Chevrolet Impala Custom is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 68 Impala was a popular seller for GM. The car could be had a number of variations from a 2-door coupe like this one all the way to a wagon. The engine line up had just as many variations with the almighty 427 sitting atop the list. This two-owner car has its original drivetrain making for a rather collectible piece of American history. With only one respray back to its original color the car looks like something straight out of 1968. The redline tires are an awesome touch and what you would expect to see in 68. Open the hood and the part that makes this car so valuable is staring right at you. The 427 in most of these were taken out a long time ago built and pout into some type of race car. This is the 427 that the car left the factory with and it runs unlike anything I have felt. It’s hard to believe a car this big and heavy can get up to speed as this one does. Matched up to its original TH400 transmission this car is ready to run down the road. Inside the original interior is in reputable shape with the front bench being rather comfortable. The huge trunk is in great condition for an untouched piece. This car is a great original American classic that can be bought a great price and enjoyed. If you have ever wanted one of the last of GM’s powerful boats that defined an era. Options on this 1968 427 Chevrolet Impala custom include, AM Stereo, AC, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Vinyl Interior, Seat Belts, Hub Caps, and Redline Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
