Chevrolet Impala 5.7L V8 FI OHV 16V 1996

General description : This 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The 94 to 96 Impala SS was an instant success for GM. In the early 90’s if you wanted a 4 door spots car you really did not have an American option. Noticing the trend and with the introduction of the LT1 engine in 1993 the brass at GM saw a huge opportunity. The Caprice, famous for being the 90’s cop car, already had the upgraded components for the performance end. A new loaded interior was all they really needed to make a great performing luxury sedan. This 1996 example has been owned by the same gentleman since new. Showing a little over 18k miles this example has been well taken care of. The paint is clean, slick, and original to the car making it a great investment. Under the hood the original LT1 is in place with a few tasteful upgrades including a Cold Air Intake, Shock tower Brace, and asset ceramic coated headers. The true dual exhaust really lets that small block breath while giving it a better exhaust note. The 4l60e transmission shifts out as it should with firm and positive upshifts. The rear upper and lower control arms have been lengthened to place the axles in the middle of the rear fender opening making a huge difference in the looks. Inside retains its original grey leather with the Logo clearly embossed on the headrest. The middle console with its classic muscle car shifter prominently displayed between the 2 buckets. The only addition is the carbon fiber trim but that, in my opinion, really helps to set the interior apart from the rest. If you have been wanting to get your hands on one of these up and coming classics that are consistently gaining value this 96 SS would make a great choice. Options on this 1996 Impala SS include; AM/FM Radio with CD player, GPS, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Seats, Power Windows, Anti-Lock Brakes, Tilt Wheel, Keyless Entry, Seat Belts, Driver Airbag, Leather Interior, Aluminum Wheels wrapped in Radial Tires. About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
