Chevrolet Impala 350 V8 1966

General description : BEAUTIFUL TRUE SS IN FACTORY COLORS, 350 V8, TH400 TRANS, AC, PS/B, GR8 CRUISER

This is no aftermarket tribute, it's the real thing! This 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS is a member of true boulevard aristocracy, an upper echelon version of the model that's been synonymous with car culture ever since it was introduced. Still decked out in its original colors both inside and out, it's in very sound driving condition and would be a formidable contender on the local car show circuit.
Impalas had captured the interest of the car buying public well before this '66 came out, but the fourth generation of the model, of which it's a member, was a real game changer for Chevy. What had been a strong seller became an icon, shattering all-time industry sales records in the process. This SS still wears its original Marina blue paint that's been brought to top form, looking smooth and glossy, with a nice even hue all over. There's an extensive array of chrome on display and all of it, from the intricate grille with its Chevrolet script that sits over a table-level bumper in front, to the badging on its deck lid in back, is in great shape. Clean glass surrounds the cabin, featuring very solid weather stripping to keep the elements out and you'll find nice, even lines around the doors, hood and deck lid. Unlike even some of the best-kept of its counterparts, the lower front valance doesn't show any mishaps from debris kicking up from the asphalt and its black vinyl top looks killer.
The interior has benefitted from a thorough refurbishment that's left it in its original two-tone configuration and looks really impressive. The dark blue inserts on the buckets in front and bench in back was a winning look for Chevy when the Impala first came out and it's well represented here, with vinyl covers that have yet to show much wear. This is a sizable coupe, originally touted for its ability to provide a fun driving experience while being hospitable to its passengers, so you'll find a bit of leg room on hand to keep your backseat occupants happy. In front of the stock steering wheel, the dash has also been kept in factory form, with easily readable stock gauges in the instrument cluster, chrome accents that look particularly sharp and a nice straight pad sitting over the top. The air conditioning on this classic is in top notch form - fire it up and it cools the cabin in very short order through the factory vents. The trunk area is also spacious - even with the spare sitting toward the front, there's all kinds of luggage room available.
In keeping with the other aspects of this iconic ride, the very tidy engine bay sports a 350 cubic inch V8 inside that replaces the original 327. It looks great in correct Chevy orange which really pops against the backdrop of the black inner fenders and firewall. It features a 4-barrel carb on top, a pair of signature ramshorn on its side and sounds very healthy. The engine teams with a smooth-shifting 3-speed automatic TH400 transmission to make up a rock-solid drivetrain - this Impala is very much ready to hit the road just as soon as you get it home. Power steering combines with fresh bushings on its control arms to provide easy, chatter-free navigation, while power brakes offer low-effort stops for this classic as it turns heads on its 15" stock Chevy wheels featuring SS spinners and outfitted with BF Goodrich T/A radials.
Strong running condition combines with iconic looks that are in top form to make this 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS an absolute "must see". Call today!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
