Chevrolet Monte Carlo 5.0L V8 4BL 1983

General description : Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to offer this sharp 1983 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. This Monte Carlo has recently undergone a restoration and is ready to hit the road. The first four generations of the Monte Carlo (197072, 197377, 197880, and 198188) were of a rear-wheel-drive, V8-powered (a V6 engine from 1978) coupe design, utilizing body-on-frame construction. The later rear-wheel-drive generations did not incorporate the trend of uni-body construction that became more prevalent in the early 1980s as automakers downsized their vehicle lines to satisfy increasing demand for fuel-economy after the 1973 oil crisis and the early 1980s recession. This Monte Carlo is powered by a 305 cubic inch 5.0-liter V8 engine that has been completed taken apart and rebuilt. The block and valve covers were repainted as well. This is a number matching drivetrain with receipts to prove the recent restoration. The odometer states that the car has about 75k miles, but the motor is like new with new parts like the radiator, seals, cylinders, pistons, and so on. The whole suspension was also redone from the bushings to the shocks, to the ball joints, sway bars, and even power steering. The Monte Carlo is ready to be enjoyed and runs better than it would have new. It is a 2-owner car and originally came from West Virginia until coming to Florida in 2013. The exterior is painted in Sea Foam Green with matching cloth interior. The car is in great shape inside and out. Options include; Air conditioning, AM/FM Radio, Cruise control, Hub Caps, Power brakes and steering, Tilt wheel, Seat belt, and radial tires. If you are looking for a daily driver or even something to take to car shows, this is the car for you! About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
