Chevrolet Nova SS 1966

General description : When the weather gets warm, dreams of cruising down the highway in a jaw-dropping classic are inevitable. Linger on that thought a little longer and the sound of a big block V8 comes to mind, coupled with images of an old school dash. We'll let you fill in the details from there but, if you like where we were going, have a look at this slick Chevy Nova. Backing 555 cubic inches of aluminum Donovan power with a tough Turbo-Hydramatic transmission and brilliant aesthetics, this cool coupe is the kind of car that you catch yourself just stopping to stare at. And if you're ready to feel the summer breeze behind the wheel of a storied Detroit legend, it's a chance to turn your dreams into reality!
TANGELO TANGO
The beneficiary of a nut-and-bolt rotisserie build that was completed by the pros at Lucasville, Ohio's Newton's Paint & Body, this factory Super Sport coupe is founded on solid sheetmetal that was completely stripped, married to fresh mini tubs and finished with a carefully relocated firewall. Not surprisingly, every seam on this Main Street king has been aligned to better-than-factory fit. Its panels wear vivid House Of Kolor pigment that dresses bright white base in Tangelo Pearl Shimrin and a coat of glossy clear. And it all adds up to one very impressive classic that looks right at home reflecting summertime car shows!
The subdued and classy lines of the prototypical Nova are late '60s conservative. And because they're so universal in appeal, they've continued to gain significant popularity. At the front of this Chevy, a mirrored bumper frames stylish parking lamps beneath a stainless-trimmed Super Sport grille that's bookended by modern tri-bar headlamps. Behind that grille, a steel Cowl Induction Hood leads the eye to tinted glass that's cased in straight trim, polished wipers and polished drip rails. At the sides of that glass, a conservative profile centers polished bowtie mirrors, a billet fuel filler and traditional GM door handles between bold '555' fender emblems and tasteful 'Super Sport' quarter scripts. And at the back of the car, a second mirrored bumper bends between clean taillights and polished exhaust tips.
FIVE-FIVE-FIVE
Enact this Nova's billet hood supports and you'll find 555 cubic inches of aluminum Donovan big block that twists a massive 658 horsepower into a whopping 820 lb./ft. of torque! A perfect amount of oxygen flows from a custom, Spectre-capped air cleaner to a lightweight aluminum intake that's wired with FAST electronic fuel injection. A fine mixture of air and premium pump gas progresses to aluminum Dart heads, which seal smooth hydraulic lifters under polished billet breathers and color-keyed Chevrolet valve covers. A quality MSD distributor jolts hot MSD Super Conductor Plug Wires to create stout compression. Spent gases roar through Jet-Hot-coated headers. Charge comes courtesy of a polished alternator that, along with a polished water pump and polished AC compressor, spins a polished Billet Specialties Tru Trac accessory drive. Cooling is provided by a big Be Cool radiator and dual SPAL puller fans. Details include niceties like dressed hoses, polished brake components and a custom radiator closeout. And a mirrored firewall, relocated a full three inches, anchors a smoothed and painted engine bay.
MOVES TO MATCH
The ferocious big block twists torque through a proven Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed, sourced directly from TCI, that works well with a trusty Gear Vendors overdrive. That gearbox, tailored to a modified tunnel and a hooped crossmember, spins a narrowed Ford 9-inch that's finished with a posi-traction differential. Body-matched floors ride a powder-coated chassis, which is led by a Mustang II-style TCI front-clip that's enhanced by manual rack-and-pinion steering. Opposite that clip, a TCI 4-link plants spry coil-overs behind welded subframe connectors. At the corners, a quartet of Wilwood calipers squeezes a quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Exhaust floats from the aforementioned headers into 3-inch stainless pipes, which center an H-shaped crossover in front of polished Magnaflow mufflers. Liquid fossils float around a custom fuel tank. And power meets the pavement through custom Billet Specialties Rails, which spin 225/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 335/30ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.
CUSTOM CLASS
Open this Nova's solid doors and you'll find a fully custom cockpit that wraps cool style around modern convenience. A brilliant, leather-trimmed dash hangs sporty AutoMeter NV telemetry beside modern Clarion audio and a familiar Vintage Air control panel. Plush bucket seats, the rears retained thanks to carefully chosen mini tubs, frame a custom, full-length console that's built around a billet Hurst shifter and billet window switches. That console floats clean carpet, which complements a custom headliner and billet-trimmed side panels. The driver spins a matched Billet Specialties steering wheel around billet foot pedals and a polished, tilting column. And naturally, this Nova's trunk is just as nicely finished as its cockpit.
In 1966, this Chevy was some of the best transportation your money could buy. Presently, it's some of the coolest muscle on the classic car market. Call, click or visit https://www.RKMotors.com and kick your summer off right!

About Chevrolet Nova
The Chevy Nova is a compact car that was produced by Chevrolet from 1962 to 1979, and again from 1985 to 1988. While it was not initially marketed as a muscle car, it was offered with a range of powerful engines that made it a popular choice among enthusiasts.

In particular, the Nova SS (Super Sport) was a high-performance version of the car that was equipped with a range of performance upgrades, including larger engines, heavy-duty suspension, and upgraded brakes. The most notable engine options included the 327 cubic inch V8 and the 396 cubic inch V8, both of which produced impressive horsepower figures.

The Nova SS was a popular choice for drag racing, and it became a symbol of the burgeoning muscle car scene in the 1960s. It was known for its simple and lightweight design, which made it a popular choice among racers looking to modify and tune their cars for maximum performance.

Today, the Chevy Nova is still a popular classic car, with enthusiasts drawn to its simple and stylish design, as well as its impressive performance capabilities. While it may not be as well-known as some of the more iconic muscle cars from the era, the Nova remains a significant part of American automotive history and a beloved classic among collectors and enthusiasts.
