Chevrolet Stylemaster 6 cylinder 1948

General description : 1948 Chevrolet Stylemaster Coupe The Stylemaster was introduced by Chevrolet in 1946 and only lasted 3 years before being discontinued in 1948.  It was the base trim level and later replaced by the Styleline.  These cars had a neat look and were the last of the 40s style vehicles as we moved into the 50s where fenders started to be more incorporated into the body.  This 48 has had a full restoration and belonged to the current owner since 2012.  We believe it has been a Texas car its whole life.  The car was entirely gone through and a lot more than our asking price was invested into the build.  The new paint is a nice Black color and the body has been totally rust free since new.  Paired perfectly with the Black paint is all of the original style chrome and stainless trim.  These cars wore a big prominent chrome grill which is nicely mounted in place as are the original bumpers.  The glass has all been replaced and it has the split two piece windshield up front.  The car has the standard headlights/taillights but also incorporates fog lights on the bumper and spotlights on each side.  The doors shut nice and solid and everything seals up well with all new weatherstripping throughout.  The car rides on aftermarket Pacer wheels wrapped in nice BF Goodrich tires.  Under the hood is the original 216c.i. straight 6 cylinder motor that has been entirely rebuilt and converted to a 12 V system.  The block and heads are painted Blue and topped off with a nice chrome valve cover.  The car has a great sound with headers into dual exhaust.  The motor is mated to a 3 speed manual transmission and the original rear end.  During the build a new wiring harness and an electric ignition was installed.  It also received a set of disc brakes up front and a rebuilt suspension system.    The interior was completely redone as well in a nice Grey upholstery.  It has a split bench seat up front which features an aftermarket set of seatbelts.  The dash has a nice combination of originality and customizations with a set of new white faced Dolphin gauges.  It also has a Vintage AC/Heat system with custom controls mounted below the passengers side of the dash.  In front of the driver sits the original accessory steering wheel as well as the column shifter.  The trunk was redone as well and offers a ton of additional storage space.  This cool classic has a lot going for it and is being offered up at a great price.  It isn't often you can get into the classic car hobby with a fully restored car for under 20K!  It also comes with a brand new car cover.  Add this clean classic to your collection for $19,950.00!

About Chevrolet
Chevrolet aka Chevy, founded in 1911 by Louis Chevrolet and William C. Durant is the best selling and biggest brand by General Motors -mainly due to low pricing.

No wonder Chevy the "working man's car" has become such an iconic part of Americana in films and pop-culture.

When talking about Chevy one must not ignore Chevrolet small-block V8 the world's most produced engine that has been in production since 1955 and still going strong.

Surprisingly, "America's only sports car" Corvette was introduced under Chevrolet brand rather than its own. To us the most memorable Corvette has to be The second generation (C2) Corvette, Sting Ray.

To compete with VW Beatle Chevrolet introduced Corvair a compact automobile built in 1960–1969 It was the only American designed, mass-produced passenger car to feature a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. Corvair handling was deemed notoriously bad mainly due to Ralph Nader's Unsafe at Any Speed. Although, any handling issues were soon solved the reputation did stick.

With Pony / Muscle car mania taking over the Americans, following the introduction of Ford Mustang, Chevrolet came up with one of its most famous models Camaro. During the first year alone they managed to sell 220,906 Camaros.
