Citroen DS 21 Pallas Injection, highly original, very rare car 1972
General description :
Trade-in car. This is a particularly original 1972 Citroën DS 21 Pallas. This DS has been in Holland since 1998 and all that time has been in the same hands. Before than it resided in the sunny South of France. The hot sun has faded the original paintwork somewhat. Faded but still authentic. The brown leather interior trim is completely original and has a lovely patina. The carpets are used but neat. Over the years the headliner has given in to the force of gravity. The previous owner however has ingeniously called that process to a halt by judicious application of a few wooden latices, which in turn only enhances the DS’s irresistible charm. Mechanically the car is sound. The 4-cylinder 2.2 petrol engine runs wonderfully well and still has ample power. The manual 5-speed gearbox shifts smoothly and accurately. The car’s mechanical prowess is down to years of dedicated maintenance and its low mileage of 76,700 km. This DS’s fine bodywork has nice and thin and correctly aligned body panels. As of now these panels have not been treated, so as to preserve the DS’s authenticity. We have to cast our minds back quite a while to recall finding such an original Citroën DS 21 Pallas. About Citroen
French industrialist André Citroën had been building arms for the French army during WWI by the end of the war he was left with great industrial facilities but no product for the post war market. In 1919 he founded Citroen that became the first mass-production car company outside the USA[3] and a pioneer of the modern marketing as well as factory backed services network. Mind you, even Eiffel Tower served as a billboard for Citroën from 1925 to 1934 -Mon Dieu, monsier!
