Underwent Six-Figure Concours-Level Restoration starting in July 2010
The current owner of this 1940 Ford Deluxe Woody informs us that it underwent a multi-year rotisserie level restoration to transform it into the outstanding vehicle before you today. Below are some build notes on this gorgeous ride-
The Exterior
This 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Station Wagon was purchased by the current owner back in 1999 from the 3rd lifetime owner.  It was in rough shape at that time but with a largely unblemished body, it was the perfect candidate for a complete Concours-level restoration.  The next several years were spent gathering the highest grade parts and accessories to make this example better than new in every possible way.  The body underwent countless months of prep work so it was smoothed to perfection.  Two-stage paint and clear coat was then applied along with new chrome, the new cloth top and of course the gorgeous Maple inserts both inside and out.
The Interior
The interior of this 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Station Wagon received just as much attention with the same quality body work and VDO gauges framed in chrome and stainless, just like the rest of the dash and the tilt column steering.  Premium materials were chosen to show subtle accents of sophistication without going over the top.  The ultra-premium Teas leather seating and German woven carpet give this classic an extraordinary look with the highest possible levels of comfort.  The ceiling and side paneling is what clearly steals the show, however, with phenomenal quality and stunning craftsmanship.  We have literally never seen a more impressive build.
The Drivetrain
A look under the hood of this 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Station Wagon is truly inspirational since the build quality rivals a modern luxury sports car.  The professionally built LS1 engine sits perfectly with super clean wiring throughout.  With ceramic coated headers and a color-matched engine block, few builds can compare in elegance or overall build quality.
Always Maintained at the Highest Possible Standards
Additionally, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie 4 Door Station Wagon has remained in temperature controlled storage since the final build was completed.  The builder/ owner informs us that it’s been driven approximately 6,400 miles since that time, mostly to exercise the engine and keep this one in perfect running condition.  It is regularly serviced with fluid changes as well.  Out on the open road, this example performs like a brand new luxury sedan with beautiful acceleration, excellent handling and an ultra-smooth ride quality.  There was no expense spared in any aspect of this build’s mechanicals and it could be driven cross country today.
In terms of its present condition, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie does not show any visible signs of wear to the exterior body, the paint or the breathtaking interior.  The body lines are exceptional with superior chrome work and flawless wood paneling.  We honestly do not see a single aspect of this classic that can be improved on inside or out- many would consider it absolute perfection.
Truly One of the Nicest, High End Woodies in the World
Overall, this 1940 Ford Deluxe Woodie Station Wagon is a true investment-grade classic that would stand out even in the finest of automotive museums.  We have not seen a more impressive build anywhere over the past decade and this example is likely priced too conservatively for such a stellar build.  For more information about this vehicle, visit our Fairfield, California showroom, give us a call at 707-419-8200, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com.  Be sure to mention Stock # F13445 as well.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
