Ford F-100 1972

General description : 1972 Ford F100 Ranger 390 Big Block Automatic 9" Rear End Power Steering
Up for sale we have a 1972 Ford F100 Ranger. This beautiful truck has been extremely well taken care of over the course of its life. We bought it to have had only one repaint and only some minor updating on the inside. It's a factory 390 truck which is a rare find as it was the last year the 390 was offered in these pickups. When you walk around it you can see that the body is in phenomenal condition with excellent fit of all the panels. All the gaps are even and symmetrical and the body lines flow beautifully from front to back. Down the sides it's straight as an arrow and everything is covered in the Two-Tone Combo of Scandia and Winter Green that complement each other perfectly. The paint has been buffed and polished to a gorgeous shine with a slick finish. Both bumpers are in excellent condition along with the rest of the chrome and stainless. The glass on this pickup is also great along with the weather stripping. To finish off the look it's sitting on the stock style wheels wit the correct Hub Caps and a set of White line Tires.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of this Pick Up. On the inside you can see that it mostly appears to be all original except for the seat which appears to have had a new cover installed. The green interior is the perfect complement to the exterior and you can see that the jams are in excellent condition considering their age. Also, the door panels are in great condition along with the dash pad. You can see that the gauges have the woodgrain accent along with the steering wheel, and that the headliner is done in white along with the visors.
Finally, we will look at the driveline of this Ford. As we mentioned earlier this is a factory 390 truck and as you can see it features the 390 engine that is dressed in the factory style. It's set up with the Ford Intake and Carb and the factory style breather with the 390 call outs. This truck does come with Power Steering and has Drum Brakes. Under the hood it has a gorgeous detail and looks like it would have when new. When you look under it you can see that it's equally impressive. It appears to have all the original floors that are rock solid along with the frame. It has the stock style suspension which all looks to be in great condition as well. The 390 Engine is mated to the C6 Automatic Trans that goes out to the 9” Rear End with a 3.25 Gear. For exhaust it has manifolds with the factory style single exhaust and muffler.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
