Tremendous 1954 Ford F100 1/2 Ton Shortbed Pickup
New to our Benicia showroom is this beautiful 1954 Ford F100 1/2 Ton Shortbed 2 Door Pickup with fresh Ford Red exterior paint, a brand new red vinyl interior and a stunning oak bed lined with stainless steel. You’ll also find a freshly build 351 cid Windsor V-8 engine under the hood with an Edelbrock intake, a Holley duel feed carburetor, nice headers, an electronic ignition, a Magnaflow dual exhaust and a 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. This tremendous build also features a Mustang II front end, power steering, power front disc brakes, an upgraded suspension and so much more.
This outstanding classic pickup must be seen in person to understand the awesome attention to detail in the restoration- it’s been driven a mere 292 miles since 2014 when the work was completed.
Driven Only 292 Miles Since Full Frame-Off Restoration
This 1954 Ford F100 Pickup has been enjoyed by two lifetime owners- the most recent of which took possession back in 1992. He enjoyed it for over a decade as a typical driver before deciding to turn it into something truly special. The restoration was completed by Rosewood Body Shop out of Eureka, California in 2014; the exterior was kept bone-stock in appearance, but virtually every other aspect of this pickup was upgraded for modern performance. It performs excellent on the open road and really turns some heads.
Additionally, this 1954 Ford F100 1/2 Ton Shortbed Pickup is highly impressive in appearance with smooth, shiny paint and a gorgeous hardwood bed, a very nice custom interior with Equus gauges and period correct wheels/tires. Since this pickup has not been driven frequently since the restoration, you’ll only find minimal levels of wear/tear throughout this vehicle. Although it’s certainly nice enough to enjoy at local shows, this beautiful pickup begs to be driven and it would make a great addition for a local Bay Area business.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.
In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.
In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
