Ford Fairlane 312 V8 1957

General description : 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Vehicle design changed quite a bit moving into the 60s but prior to that long sleek vehicles with lots of chrome and those classic fins were the thing to have.  For the 1957 Fords there were many trim levels to choose from starting with the custom and working your way up to the top of the line Fairlane 500 like you see here.  This cool classic has a great look and runs well.  It is a survivor quality car and really looks cool rolling down the road.  The body is solid with no rust spots or signs of previous damage.  It is painted in Cumberland Green and White color combo that suits it well and is the factory colors.  These cars had a ton of bright work and all of the original style chrome and stainless trim is cleanly mounted in place.  The glass is all good except for the passengers side window which does have a crack in it.  The car rides around on its original wheels and hubcaps which are wrapped with wide white wall tires which are perfect for this vintage of vehicle.  The tires are from Coker and are new so they have a lot of life left in them.  It also has the rear skirts which complete the classic 50s look.  Under the forward tilting hood is the Thunderbird 312 V8 which was the largest displacement available for this year.  It starts up smoothly and doesn't smoke or have any issues.  It is backed by an automatic transmission that moves through the gears nicely.  It has factory power steering which works properly.    The interior is done in a Green and White color combo to match the body.  The upholstery work is in good shape and it has bench seats in front/rear.  Everything has been kept mostly original except for the added seatbelts and aftermarket console/cupholders which sit on the seat.  All of the lights are working properly with no problems.  The trunk of this car has a ton of storage space and houses a spare and jack. This cool survivor car has a lot going for it and looks great rolling down the road.  There is nothing quite like the style of these 50's classics and this one is the top of the line trim level with nice factory options. Make this cool classic yours for $26,450.00! NOW REDUCED DOWN TO $21,000.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
