Ford Mustang 351 CID V8 1969

General description : Up for sale in Gateway’s #1 showroom is this very clean & classic 1969 Ford Mustang Grande. 1969 saw the addition of the third restyling of the Mustang with more heft to the body with it being extended almost 4 inches ad the width increased by a half an inch. The Grande edition was also a new edition as a luxury model that featured a softer ride, extra sound deadening material added to the car, as well as a deluxe interior with wood trim. This one is powered by a 351 CiD V8 Windsor motor that runs strong & healthy throughout the power band. The car in an M code car and originally came with a 390 V8. The extremely popular 351 is paired to a C4 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly up & down through the gears. The engine bay is clean and rust free. All wires and components are neatly mounted and placed, & it does have Ford polished valve covers & air cleaner. The car also has dual exhaust. The exterior of the car is in very nice condition. The paint is very nice and is free from any dings, dents, or major scratches. The car does not have a very glossy finish, but it is that of a very nice driver & still shows well. The body panel gaps are even, and the body is straight & true. The polished trim is nice as well and doesn’t require any attention. The bumpers, grill, emblems, & glass are also in very nice shape and are ready to roll. The vinyl top is also in fantastic condition and is free from tears or blemishes. Keeping the authentic classic look of the car is the original Ford hub cap wheels that are wrapped in newer radial tires that have plenty of life in them. The interior is in excellent condition and is great looking on the Grande edition. The vinyl & cloth seats are in superb condition and are comfortable. The carpet, dash, door panels, & headliner follow suit and are all in very nice shape. The deluxe interior trim on the car is much different & unique when almost every other mustang on the market with the same basic look. So, it separates itself from the market with that factor. The car is rust free and it was well cared for over the years. The trunk is very clean as well. The car looks just as good underneath it as it does on top. New suspension & bushings are evident. Car is believed to have original miles, but it is not documented. Options on this car include; power brakes, power steering, AM/FM with cassette, white wall tires, & more. About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.
