LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible.
The 1967 model year was the first redesign of the original model and Ford's designers created all new larger version of the Mustang. The increased size of the body allowed a major mechanical advantage which was to allow the installation of a new big-block V8 engine. The increased size also allowed a roomier cabin and cargo space was increased. The high-performance 289 engine was placed behind the newer 390-4V V8 making 320 hp, which was now the new high performance benchmark. A 390 GT engine, a 4-speed top loader transmission recorded quarter mile times of approximately 13 seconds and trap speeds of over 105 mph (169 km/h). Now consider that only 5% of Mustang's total production was equipped with the GT option and only about 6% received the "S" Code 390cid engine, and only 8% of those were convertibles; do the math. That means only a handful of “S” Code Convertibles were ever produced from the factory.
This particular Mustang was built on April 27th, 1968 at the Dearborn Assembly Plant. It was sold new at Glenbrook Ford on May 25th, 1967. It was factory ordered in the highly desirable Brittany Blue Paint and Parchment Deluxe Interior which is a timeless combination and rarely seen. Powered by its numbers matching “S” Code 390-4V engine backed by its numbers matching 4-speed manual transmission and with a 3.25 limited slip rear axle. This car was fully loaded with options from the factory including the following: White Paint Stripe, White Power Top w/Glass Backlite, GT Equipment Group, Limited Slip Differential, Convenience Group, Lower Back Panel Grille, Console, Power Steering, Tilt-Away Steering Wheel, Air Conditioner-Selectaire, AM Radio, Exterior Décor Group, Interior Décor Group, Tinted Glass, Deluxe Seat Belts, and Styled Steel Wheels. This car has been subject to a rotisserie restoration back to factory standards. The exterior parts have been re-chromed and the stainless trim and parts have been polished it a very high shine. The engine bay, trunk and undercarriage have been correctly detailed to factory original, including all the factory stickers, tags, paint and chalk markings. The optional steel style wheels have been wrapped in white line bias ply tires. This ground up restoration shows extremely well with a fit and finish that is as good, or better than factory. The body is straight and the paint has been wet sanded and polished to a brilliant shine.
The 1967 Ford Mustang GT Convertible is an icon of pony car design and it has truly stood the test of time, as it is considered by many to be one of the most important Mustang models ever produced. This car comes fully documented with a comprehensive Deluxe Marti report, build sheet, dealer brochure and owner’s manual. With this combination of classic and highly collectible colors, numbers matching “S” Code 390, and 4 Speed Transmission, this is undoubtedly one of the most desirable convertible mustangs ever built. It is the only one factory built like it! It doesn't get any rarer.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
