Ford Mustang GT500 Restomod Fastback 5.4 Liter DOHC Supercharged V8 1967

General description : Description
This 1968 Ford Mustang GT500 Restomod Fastback has enough sleek metallic gray paint to make some people turn their heads in awe. After all, it's done as a tribute to some legendary Shelby machines, and with a supercharged V8 and a six-speed, it can blow them away on the street or track. Add in the upgraded suspension, A/C interior, and all-around stunning style, and you have custom coupe that's ready for both show and go.
The extra-sleek Pepper Gray with full racing stripes on top instantly catches everyone's eye. But it's only the beginning of this GT's allure, because the customization is apparent from every angle. It's up front with the dual billet grilles that make way for a new front bumper and racing lights. And speaking of lights, this also gets a custom set of fog lights mounted in a specially built front panel. The hood pins look like they were necessary to tame this beastly bulging hood (and we'll tell you exactly why they're needed a little later.) This style GT500 tribute is all about adding modern supercar-like sleekness to a coveted classic. You see this in details, like how the custom bodykit integrates the side exhaust, and the rear panel and bumper are color matched to fully surround the special Shelby-style taillights. Plus, those classic Halibrand-style wheels are a larger 17-inch size so that you can fit modern performance tires.
The black stripes outside get you ready for the black interior. You have an awesome custom setup with high-back bucket seats finished in a supple leather. There's also a custom cup holder center console in-between. And Shelby's coiled snake is embossed on the headrests and armrest. The door cards, carpeting, and headliner all continue this dark attitude. And with the exterior gray returning to accent the metal parts of the doors and dash, you have the look inside and out of a thoughtful total build. There are even nice comfort upgrades like an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input, and you stay cool with the modern R134a air conditioning. Of course, a proper Shelby-style car knows how to speak directly to the driver. That's why you have a three-spoke sports steering wheel on a tilt column, Cobra-style metal pedals, and a Hurst shifter.
The engine bay is going to draw crowds all on its own. After all, we all expect a legendary Ford V8 under the hood, but never one as young as this. You're looking at a fuel-injected 4.6-liter modular motor that made a name for itself with the Mustang GTs. And with a supercharger on top, this one gives you the kind of awesome power of the Terminator SVT Cobras. The Tremec six-speed manual transmission was built to handle all this power while giving you firm control. It feeds a stout Ford 9-inch rear end. In fact, this whole car was built for added performance with the tubular A-arm Mustang II-style front end, upgraded rear suspension w/coilovers, and subframe connectors. Plus, four-wheel power disc brakes, power steering, and grippy ZR-rated tires are all there for good all-around control.
It's hard not to get excited about a supercharged Shelby tribute like this... especially when you get to enjoy it all from the comfort of an A/C interior. So you know you can't miss a complete package like this. Call now!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
