Ford Other 429 V8 1969

General description : #'S MATCH 429 V8, SUPER RARE 1 OF 1, MARTI REPORT, BUILDSHEET, CORRECT COLORS!!

This is the kind of convertible that gets us excited. A rare 1969 Ford XL that has been restored/preserved in its terrific red on red factory color combo. And because these looks like the sportiest full-size Fords of the day, this one comes with its original 429 big block and four-speed manual. Oh yeah, this is a lot of Ford muscle for the money, and it has all the right paperwork to prove it, too.
The XL was the sporty trim for the Galaxie line in '69 and this one sure shows it best in Candyapple Red. This factory-correct color has been given a professional respray so this sunshine-friendly convertible looks its best on every sunny day cruise. This has been treated with care from day one, and also received all the right maintenance, so the creased body panels look amazing, the weatherstripping is malleable, doors shut with authority. It's an impressive droptop with all the right details like the hidden headlights, lower fender 429 badging, and factory Mag wheel covers. We especially like the view where you see both the front and side at the same time. There is just something about the red line running across the black grille combined with the redline tires that just tells you this is a classic droptop that's equal parts performance and style.
While this one looks great with the white folding roof in place, with the flip of a switch, the power top reveals an even more desirable red interior. The darker hue against the bold exterior color is very sporty and a bit European. This stellar level of presentation/preservation is another clue that this was a well-respected member of the family. And speaking of the brood, the full-size XL and two row bench seats means there's plenty of room to carry family and friends along for the ride. But even if it's just you, this XL excites. The entire dash and all the important controls are centered around the driver. And no matter if you're eating up the blacktop or just cruising, we know you'll love resting your right hand on the rare center shifter.
Everywhere you pop the hood this XL will draw a huge crowd. After all, we all love to see a big block under the hood, and few ever got larger than the massive 429 V8. Not only is this ultra-desirable motor original to the car, but also a small fortune was spent making it look this factory fresh. Everything from the big blue block to the Autolite decal on the air topper will have people marveling at this motor for quite some time. But more than just look fantastic, the V8 fires up easily, idles smoothly, and gives a nice growl out of the H-pipe dual exhaust. Out on the road, the four-barrel carburetor and control of the four-speed manual transmission means you can instantly take this cruiser from mild to wild in just one downshift. It's a powerful package that lives up to its sporting heritage.
On a classic this special, you're going to love the full paperwork file that comes with this droptop, including the factory buildsheet, owner's manual, and reproduction window sticker. You even get a full Marti Repot that proves this is one of only 113 429/4-speed convertible... it even gets the option list down to make this a 1 of 1! This kind of power and prestige rarely comes up for sale, so don't miss out. Call today!!!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
