Ford Roadster '57 Chevy 283 V8 1932

General description : 1932 Ford Custom - The Texas Playboy There may be other 32 Fords out there but not all cars are created equal.  This beautiful built 32 Roadster is the brain child of Brian Bass with Bass Kustoms who fully documented the build process online over on the H.A.M.B. on Jalopy Journal.  That post is still there and features a page outlining the build followed by 12 additional pages full of complements for Bass and his 59 styled Roadster.  That is part of what makes this 32 so cool and stand out next to others.  It wasn't meant to be a modern style hot rod but one that pays homage to the style of car customizations back in the 50s.  It even wears a 1959 license plate...talk about detail.  There is no doubting Bass does amazing work and why he joined the team on Fast N Loud to lead some of their period correct builds. This car is known as the Texas Playboy and only the best hands in the business took part in its construction.  In addition to Bass's work the interior was done at Fat Lucky's in Austin, Texas and the motor by Eric Carter in Azle, Texas.  It was clear Bass had a vision in mind and new the people that would make it happen.  The result is a one of a kind well known Hot Rod that truly has its own place in Hot Rodding history.  The car also received a very nice write up in the Rodder's Journal which is one of the most highly regarded publications in the Hot Rodding world.  We could write pages upon pages of all the quality workmanship in the car and even still know we will leave something out.  So lets stick with the basics to give you an idea of the cars specs.  PAINT INTERIOR       When you start to look at all of the different components that went into this build it becomes clear how well this car was thought out.  It isn't a case of just pulling out a catalogue and ordering parts.  An obvious effort was made to make every single piece on it something that you could have available in the 50's.  It is such a well designed car and the hours that went into it is something we couldn't even estimate.  If you want the 32 Ford that is going to stand out, this is the one.  Every old hotrodder out there will appreciate the time, effort and skill it took to construct a 50s era hot rod in modern times.  You couldn't come close to replicating it for only $95,000.00!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
