Ford Sedan 1940

General description : What do you get when you combine the smooth aesthetics of a show-worthy street rod with the spry spirit of an old school muscle car? This incredible Ford custom! With the universal appeal of high dollar eye candy, and the road going prowess of a fully sorted cruiser, this slick sedan is a unique, well-built classic that provides its owner the best of both worlds. And what's better: you can have your showstopper and drive it too for a fraction of the money and time it takes to complete a ground-up build!
TITANIUM STEEL
A head-turning street rod that's dashed with a fair amount of muscle car swagger, this all-steel Ford features a detailed, custom appearance that's highlighted by a spectacular coat of Aston Martin Titanium Silver 2-stage. That pigment wraps a solid profile that, during not one, but two ground-up restorations, was stripped bare and lovingly massaged to form. And today, this classic rolls as one lights-out head turner that's virtually guaranteed to make you weak in the knees!
There really isn't much you can do to make an early '40s Ford more attractive. The car's streamlined styling was a homerun when originally introduced; and today, it's a stunning example of some of the strongest elements of the highly regarded Art Deco movement. At the front of this cherry custom, broad fenders center a familiar De Luxe grille between chrome-trimmed headlights and an elegant, 'V8' branded hood. That hood points classy stainless trim in front of opposing doors, which swing polished mirrors over padded running boards. Above those boards, a 4-inch chop hangs chip-free glass between polished wiper stands and a decked trunk. And beneath that power-operated hatch, a custom valance centers a frenched tag between frenched taillights and an updated fuel filler.
427 STROKER
It's pretty obvious this sedan was built to be driven and seen. And nowhere is that more evident than under the hood, where you'll find 427 cubic inches of stroked Ford power that was professionally assembled by the pros at Troy's Engine and Manufacturing of Rigby, Idaho. At the top of that mill, which began life as a World Products 351 Ford Man O'War block, a big Holley carburetor sucks wind through a polished air cleaner that's ringed with a reusable filter element. That wind whips around a coated Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, which is bolted to aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM cylinder heads. Those heads stack stylish valve covers and polished breathers on a COMP roller cam and COMP roller lifters. At the front of that cam, a quality MSD distributor sequences spark between a hot MSD coil and loomed Accel Ferro-Spiral Race Wires. Beneath those wires, coated block hugger headers roll charred dinosaurs past trick dipsticks. In front of those tubes, a polished serpentine drive spins a polished alternator next to a polished AC compressor. Speaking of water, a chrome-capped Walker radiator circulates coolant around a requisite puller fan and a corrugated upper hose. Speaking of fluids, quality Russell lines complement a deep-sump oil pan. And polished hood supports look great reflecting a smoothed firewall.
SEAMLESS UPGRADES
Take a long look under this classic and you'll find a roster of significant modifications that add up to impressive dynamics and big performance gains. The buff 427 utilizes a trusty Ford 4-speed to twist a tough Ford 9-inch that's built with a posi-traction differential. That axle pushes a boxed and powder-coated chassis, which plants cushy Max-Air shocks behind a Total Cost Involved Mustang II front-clip that's finished with a polished sway bar, polished control arms and adjustable coil-over-shocks. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are quick and precise thanks to clean Goodridge lines and a quartet of polished calipers. Spent gases are managed by coated pipes, which make excellent use of coated Dynomax mufflers. And power pounds the pavement through polished Intro wheels, which spin 205/45ZR17 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As in front of 255/45ZR18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/As.
DELUXE DE LUXE
There's no shortage of street rods with custom interiors, but a classic this cool always stands out! Installed by Finish Line Automotive Interiors of Santa Clara, California, the car's custom cockpit kicks off with modern bucket seats that are a covered in a sea of plush Italian Leather. In front of those seats, a Titanium Silver dash hides controls for Vintage Air conditioning behind an array of classy Auto Meter gauges. Speaking of convenience, a custom console plants a stylish Lokar shifter between a sophisticated Alpine audio system and switches for modern power windows. The driver spins a polished banjo-style steering wheel around a tilting Ididit column. And detailing is on point, with plush carpet, billet handles and billet pedals complementing items like EZ Wiring, Dynamat insulation and a Lucky -7 remote entry system.
This striking Ford is a nicely finished classic that was built to be driven AND seen. It uses top-notch components from some of the best names in the business to create a unique custom that mixes killer personality with awesome curb appeal. Looking for a road ready hot rod that's guaranteed to draw a crowd wherever you go? Your search is officially over!

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
