Sensational 1956 Ford Thunderbird Removable Hardtop
New to our Benicia showroom is this beautiful 1956 Ford Thunderbird 2 Door Removable Hardtop with teal exterior paint and a matching teal/white vinyl interior.  You’ll find a freshly rebuilt 292 cid V-8 engine under the hood with an automatic transmission, both of which the current owner claims to be original to this classic.  This example is in excellent overall condition as well and one of the most original, beautifully maintained classics we’ve come across in many years.
Three Owner Classic w/ Same Neighbors Since New
The current owner of this 1956 Ford Thunderbird Removable Hardtop is the third to own it, although it has remained within the same neighborhood its entire life.  The original owner enjoyed it throughout the 50’s and 60’s before finally storing it inside a barn.  A neighbor then purchased it in 1979 (the father of the current owner) and spent the next several years restoring it himself, one nut and bolt at a time.  The restoration was completed in the Fall of 1982 and it has been driven less than 1,000 miles since that time- mainly to local car shows and for the 2nd owner’s daughter to drive away in after her marriage in 1984. The original motor was just rebuilt this past month as well and driven a total of 25 miles since that time.
This outstanding classic was then passed to the 2nd owner’s son and has remained in storage since that time, except to back it down the driveway once each week or occasionally drive around the block.  We do have extensive documentation available charting the restoration effort as well including photos of when the drivetrain was pulled.  We also have the original owner’s manual on hand and the current owner believes that the factory engine is still installed.  While he does not have any proof, he informs us that his father checked the engine block code during the early 80’s restoration and it matched up.
Freshly Rebuilt Engine with 7 Year/100k Mile Warranty
In terms of its present condition, this 1956 Ford Thunderbird still shines nicely and captures your attention.  There are some issues with the paint so the next owner may opt for a respray, but virtually everything else about this beautiful classic is well above the typical driver standard.  The two-tone interior in particular really stands out since it’s very close to like-new condition throughout.  The ride quality and driving experience is also excellent so this one can be enjoyed right away.
Additionally, the current owner just had the original block rebuilt and the service work includes a full 7 year/100,000 mile warranty.  The motor sounds outstanding and the performance is on par with original factory specifications.  it must be seen (and test driven) to truly appreciate the quality of this classic automobile.
Painstakingly Restored in the Early 1980’s to Epic Levels
Overall, this 1956 Ford Thunderbird Removable Hardtop is an incredible, well-maintained classic that would make a fantastic addition to any serious collector.  This one will not last long at the current asking price and one lucky owner is going to fall in love with it.  For more information about this vehicle, visit our Benicia, California showroom, give us a call at 707-748-4000, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com.  Be sure to mention Stock # B11430 as well.

About Ford
Ford, founded in 1902, has arguably changed the history of automotive world more than any other car manufacturer by introducing the first people's car Model T in 1908. They had produced more than 15 million cars by the end of the production in 1927, by which T had become obsolete.

Ford launched the first low priced V8 engine powered car in 1932. 1932 V8 was an instant hit with superior handling and performance to many far more expansive cars of the day. No wonder 32 V8 Ford has become such a favourite among hot rodders around the world with 32 Deuce coupe as their icon.

During the war Ford completely shut down civilian vehicle production to dedicate all its resources to the Allied war efforts (1942-45) They used to build B-24 bombers, aircraft engines, jeeps, M-4 tanks, military trucks and Bren-gun carriers and more than 30,000 super-charged Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engines for Mosquito and Lancaster bombers as well as P-51 Mustang fighters. After the war Ford cars in the USA got bigger and flashier along with their competitors. In the 60's Ford was back in the forefront again when introducing their commercial hit Mustang in 1964. Mustang was so popular the competition had to follow Ford's example and the ponycar phenomenon took over the US. Over the years the ponies grew some muscles until the oil crisis kill finally killed them off.

In the sixties Ford rushed into international motor sports scene with a fury. After unsuccessful Ferrari takeover, when Enzo Ferrari had cut the deal off with Henry Ford II making the latter absolutely boil with fury, Ford turned to Lola in UK to produce a Ferrari beating long distance racer after. The collaboration between Ford and Lola created the mighty Ford GT40 that absolutely beat Ferrari in Le Mans 24 numerous times.

In Europe, Ford introduced some of the most epic race and rally cars of the 60's based on humble family sedans; Cortina GT, Lotus Cortina, Escort Twin Cam, and Escort 1600RS with the iconic Cosworth BDA engines.

Today classic Fords are extremely popular with enthusiasts and a great selection of classic Fords can be found for sale at www.ClassicDigest.com
